Erhebungsjahr (2011) Yvonne Kiss & Timo Kopf Abstract The Vertigo species (Gastropoda, Vertiginidae) listed in annex II of the EU FFH directive in South Tyrol: 4th year of investigation Within a multiyear survey, which was carried out on behalf of the Office for Nature Parks (Department for Nature and Landscape of the Autonomic Province Bozen), data from literature and museum collections were compiled concerning Vertigo angustior, Vertigo genesii, Vertigo geyeri and Vertigo moulinsiana in South-Tyrol. Additionally, control samples were taken in some of the historical localities. The investigations in South-Tyrol`s Nature Parks and nearby sites started in 2009 and were completed by further samples (38 sieve-samples from wetland habitats) in 2011 with the following results: Vertigo moulinsiana and V. angustior could not be found at the sampled altitudes. There were also no further findings of V. geyeri. New records are given for Vertigo genesii from 17 sites of the nature park Puez-Geisler and nearby habitats, partially with surprising abundances (1956 specimens in total). Four sites in the western part of the Nature Park Trudner Horn (Truden) and several sites in the Nature Park Texelgruppe did not bring any results due to lack of limestone. An updated summary includes records for V. angustior in 24, for V. genesii in 15, for V. geyeri in 10 and for V. moulinsiana in 5 municipalities in South-Tyrol, which are also illustrated in distribution maps.
