Carthage competes as a member of NCAA Division III, and many of its teams compete in the College Conference of and . The CCIW is regarded as one of the most competitive Division III conferences in the nation, focused on helping student-athletes to grow in athletics and academics. Other CCIW members include Augustana College, , Elmhurst College, Illinois , , , , and Wheaton College. Carthage boasts some of the most impressive athletic facilities in all of
