The name was soon shortened to Hillsboro College. With a two-person faculty and 79 students, Hillsboro prom- ised “a course of study designed to be DR. A native of Menasha, Wis., Roehl attended the University of Wiscon- sin-Oshkosh, where he graduated in 1977 with a bache- lor’s in physical education and health. He served as the boy’s basketball and baseball coach at Somers Shoreland Lutheran High School from 1979-98. Roehl, a long-time private golf instructor at Brighton Dale Golf Links in Kansasville, Wis., also served as Car- thage’s men’s basketball assistant coach for 10 years be- tween 2004 and 2013 after serving as a part-time assistant coach for four seasons between 2000 and 2003.     Athletic Training Advising Page Principle Activities: Athletic trainers are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Clinical tasks of athletic trainers are organized into five domains: I: Injury/illness prevention and wellness protection II: Clinical evaluation and diagnosis III: Immediate and emergency care IV: Treatment and rehabilitation V: Organizational and professional health and well-being Professional Education/Training: To become certified athletic trainer, a student must graduate with bachelors or masters degree from an accredited professional athletic training education program and pass a comprehensive test administered by the Board of Certification. Once certified, they must meet ongoing continuing education requirements in order to remain certified. Athletic trainers must also work under the direction of a physician and within their state practice act.     2014 CCIW Men’s Soccer Tournament November 5 & 8, 2014 Elmhurst Millikin North Park Wheaton CCIW.org • @CCIW_Athletics Welcome to the 2014 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Soccer Tournament. With the help and support of our fans, member institutions, administrators, coaches and student-athletes, the CCIW enters the 2014-15 academic year as its 69th season of competition, 29th for women’s sports. The conference is coming off another successful year in 2013-14 with over 1,400 academic all-conference recipients, 14 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans, 33 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients and 87 all-Americans. The CCIW, recognized as one of the “Best Small-College Conferences in the Nation,” has seen its share of success throughout its time, with 46 NCAA Division III National Championships in 11 different sports won by the membership. Since the 1991-92 academic year the CCIW has remained consistent in its membership with eight academically superior institutions, including Augustana, Carthage, Elmhurst, Illinois Wesleyan, Millikin, North Central, North Park and Wheaton. Former CCIW member Carroll University, located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, will return to the conference in 2016-17. In 2007, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, located in Terre Haute, Ind., joined the CCIW as an associate member for men’s and women’s swimming, while in 2014, University of Dubuque, located in Dubuque, Iowa, joined the CCIW as an associate member for men’s and women’s lacrosse. The CCIW, which sponsors 23 sports, has carried a long tradition of excellence dating back to its inception in 1946, helping student-athletes grow in their athletic as well as educational experience.
