The 2nd of December will always remain a hallmark of continuous grace and giving. While the founding fathers and leaders were the first to lay the cornerstone of the newly-fledged nation of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, (May God protect him), was the one who laid the foundation stone of empowerment and launching towards the future – stage of paramount importance in the evolving Union experiment which aimed primarily to serve, develop and raise the standard of living of the UAE citizen and to hoist the UAE flag high up on the international arena where the UAE could be placed in the position it rightly deserves among regional and international nations. This enthusiasm is not limited to National Day celebration only, but it goes also to include all national events awaited by citizens to repay a national favor and to tell the world that the UAE will always remain a symbol of unity, cohesion and progress. This gives us confidence in the present and future of this gracious land. National Day celebrations also include all expatriates and residents of our endearing nation – a sign of sure love and affection to the UAE where justice, coexistence, equality, tolerance and happiness reign. There is no discrimination based on race, color, faith or else. Our wise leadership was even keen to create a ministry for tolerance tasked primarily with strengthening the values of tolerance, dialogue and acceptance of the other – a step which asserts the pioneering UAE. The UAE is looking at the future with enormous confidence and hope. Our national front is rock-solid thanks to national unity and support for our wise leadership. National economy is bullish thanks to the economic diversification policy pursued for many years that the UAE economy has become a perfect example of knowledge and creativity-based economies. Strenuous efforts are being made by our wise leadership in preparation for post-oil stage by concentrating on education and offering a pioneering example much sought after by many regional nations. We size the glorious event of the UAE National Day, a memory dearest to our hearts and minds, to renew our allegiance and loyalty to our wise leadership and beloved land, and to pray the Almighty God to endow on us the gracious benefits of security and stability and to preserve our nation and our union against all evils at all times΃
