TIGER AAU BASKETBALL - BASKETBALL

Spring

Tiger AAU Basketball is a girls basketball organization that field’s teams ranging in age from 8-17 old in the spring season. The purpose of Tiger AAU Basketball is to provide opportunities for players to develop their life and basketball skills while playing at a competitive level. When teams are selected they are registered with the National AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) organization. The coach of each team is given the flexibility to make his/her own schedules based on team objectives for the season. The younger teams (8-12) generally play 25-40 games with the season lasting until mid-June. The older age groups (13-17) will depend on the team and it's goal for the season. Each player will pay a $150.00 registration fee to the club upon making a team at the last day of tryouts. This cost covers, AAU card, registration fee into the Local AAU qualifying tournament, equipment and administrative costs. The tournament cost each player will incur for their season is based on the number of tournaments the team plays in & how many out of town trips taken. All players will share tournament costs equally. All coaches and administrators are volunteers and are NOT paid. Tiger AAU Basketball will field teams at the following age groups – 3rd through 12th grade. Tiger AAU Basketball will also field a second team at all age groups when possible.

Fall Season

Tigers AAU sponsors an AAU fall league at West Potomac High School for teams in the age groups of 9-17’s. Tryouts are held at the end of August. The season runs from until the first week of . The league plays 9-10 games. This is a developmental league and is used to see how much players have progressed from the spring and also to see new players at different age groups. It is also used by players to get ready for the upcoming season.

Winter Season

Tigers AAU sponsors select AAU Teams to play in the Tiger AAU Winter League. Tryouts are held at the end of November. The season runs from December until February. The league plays 9-10 games. The cost is $150 per player. This is a competitive league and the primary purpose is to help the more skilled athletes prepare the Spring AAU season.
