Our impressive country estate was once the seat of John Evelyn, a famous botanist who designed England’s very first Italian garden. These 17th century gardens, complete with Italian temples and magical grottoes, offer a unique backdrop for you to say ‘I do’.

Our grand vaulted ceilings, pillars and centuries-old original marble fireplaces set a romantic tone for an indoor ceremony in The Old Library.

A whimsical, show-stopping setting for your ceremony, natural daylight shines in through the stone Gothic windows and history comes to life with Ancient Greek phrases written on the walls.

Set within the beautiful Surrey countryside, our Grade II listed Italian Gardens are fully licensed for civil ceremonies, making the perfect backdrop for celebrations of up to 140 guests.

Celebrate the joys of nature by opting for an outdoor wedding ceremony underneath one of our two majestic temples. With panoramic views of the gardens, imagine saying your vows outdoors amongst the spectacular greenery that makes Wotton so extraordinary. Pop the Prosecco!

After your ceremony, mingle with your guests and celebrate! You are now married. Bubbles, cocktails and canapés are welcome refreshments for you and your guests whilst absorbing the post-ceremony atmosphere.

Our iconic Italian Gardens are a perfect setting for your group photos, then be whisked away by your photographer for a few private moments in our grottoes, temples and woodland.

When you first walk into our Evelyn Suite, you’ll notice the daylight flooding into the space. With four double doors leading out onto our Italian Gardens, artwork inspired by the local area and wooden panelling our Evelyn Suite provides you with a modern and elegant backdrop for your wedding breakfast.

The neutral palette within the room lends itself effortlessly to your chosen colour scheme and decor. Whether you are imagining a room full of candlelight, an abundance of flowers or a unique and unusual twist, this classic space provides you with endless possibilities. Dance the night away

As the sun begins to set, greet your evening guests whilst the Evelyn Suite is transformed. With the gardens bathed in an evening glow, steal a few moments together for photos at this magical time of day.

As the lights are lowered, it’s time to get the party started and dance the night away with your live band or DJ. Tantalise your taste buds with one of our delicious evening menus, served throughout the evening. As midnight rolls around, your party can retire to the 1877 Bar and enjoy a nightcap, recalling their favourite moments of your special day. And so, to bed

As the night draws in, you’ll make your way through our mansion house and up our 17th century staircase to our elegant guestrooms, where you’ll end your day amongst our country estate inspired artwork and textiles.

Kick off your shoes, relax and reminisce together about your day as a newly married couple. Your family and friends can enjoy the celebrations for a little longer too, with guestrooms available and an invite to join you for breakfast the following morning. Choose from an indoor or outdoor wedding ceremony. Our beautiful Old Library is filled with 17th century details or you can host your nuptials in the stunning Italian Gardens surrounded by nature.

Included in the room hire for your ceremony is our lime-wash Chiavari chairs and candelabras in The Old Library’s arched windows. Our ceremony room hire is charged separately so it can be removed if you choose to have an off-site ceremony. Please note, this hire charge does not include your registrar fees.
