Prospect Books was founded in 1979 by Alan and Jane Davidson, at the same time as they initiated the food studies journal Petits Propos Culinaires (PPC), now in its 116th issue. Prospect Books was run by Tom Jaine from 1993-2014, and is now run by Catheryn Kilgarriff.
