The Upper School offers a curriculum designed to foster intellectual development and to prepare students for college and university study. Traditional disciplines and a wide range of electives provide a stimulating and challenging academic environment. Please note that because of the achievement and selectivity of our student body, many of our courses are taught only at the Advanced Placement level. Regardless of level, all classes are challenging college-preparatory courses. A normal course load is five courses in Classes 9 through 11, and four to five courses in Class 12. All Class 12 students are required to take a minimum of one term of a quantitative course. Since 2009, students also have had the opportunity to take courses through the Online School for Girls.
