- DESTROYING. Status and figures of remaining surplus weapons and ammunition stockpile

SOLVED SURLUS OF ARMS During period from 01.01.2006. to 31.03.2014. were solved following surpluses of arms and ammo:

1. ARMS: - Donated 663 pieces - Sold 29.086 pieces - Destroyed 30.081 pieces

TOTAL: 59.830 pieces Status and figures of remaining surplus weapons and ammunition stockpile

SOLVED SURPLUS OF AMMO

1. AMMO AND EXPLOSIVE

- Donated 31 tons - Sold 2.643 tons - Destroyed 11.535 tons

TOTAL: 14.209 tons Status and figures of remaining surplus weapons and ammunition stockpile

Ø AF B&H has, as of March, 13.2014., following surpluses of ammo and arms:

1. ARMS______28231pieces approx. 2. Ammo and explosive 16.546 tons National logistics / ammo schools and courses

PSSM training gaps and needs

Basic needs of the Armed Forces :

Ø Necessary substantial number of trained personnel, especially ammunition specialist Ø The majority of personnel that is managing the ASS would be made redundant

Ø There was a need for a quick and cheap way of training a large number of personnel

Experience with foreign-supported training

Ø Training through EUFOR MTT

Ø Three modules:

- Physical Security (SWISS)

- Record keeping and Inventory (SWE)

- Ammunition handeling and maintening (AUT):

Evaluation of “train - the - trainer” approaches

Ø Established Ammunition Logistic Section in TRADOC (official this section start work on 1,May 2014)

Ø Training in technical inspection of missiles

Ø Locations “Rajlovac” Sarajevo & “Krupa” Pazarić Ø Course duration: 3 plus 3 weeks

Ø Trained personnel: the ammunition specialists from AF BIH OPCMD and SPT CMD

TRAIN THE TRAINER COURSE (TTC)

Ø Locations "Rajlovac" Sarajevo and Vienna Austria (course four testing chemical stability of gunpowder)

Ø Trained personnel: OFs and NCOs, future instructors for training personal of AF B&H

Ø Trained 10 instructors

BASIC PHISICAL SCURITY COURSE (BPSC)

Ø Location Travnik

Ø Trained personnel: OFs and NCOs engaged with a physical security, emergency services and training in this area from AF BIH OPCMD and SPTCMD

Ø Conducted four courses

Ø Trained 64 persons, of which 10 instructors

AMMUNITION TRANSPORTATION SAFETY COURSE (ATSC)

Ø Location “Krupa” Pazarić

Ø Trained personnel: OFs and NCOs engaged in the implementation of the tasks of handling and transporting ammunition from AF B&H OPCMD and SPTCMD

Ø Conducted three courses

Ø Trained 52 persons, including 7 instructors

RECORD KEEPING AND INVENTORY COURSE (RCI)

Ø Location Travnik Ø Course duration: 3 weeks

Ø Trained personal:ammunition specialists from AF B&H OPCMD and SPT CMD

Ø Conducted one course

TECHNICAL INSPECTION OF AMMUNITION COURSE

Ø Location: Mechanical Engineering Faculty Sarajevo
