*A number of household surveys have sought to provides estimates of the proportion of individuals who identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual. Recent ONS work produced a figure of 1.5% of the population. However, other surveys suggest higher rates. For this reason a range of rates are used based on current population data. Key Messages
