I would like to end by highlighting two of our members.
Alan Williams and Jr. Norfleet have worked tirelessly on revamping our website. They have spent many hours on this project. Although, they say it still has a few bugs, I
couldn't find them. Go out there and check it out!

What a ride! Back in May of 2009 I received a phone call from my good friend "Genuine" Gene Hensley about a shag night at a new bar in downtown Mooresville, The Bathtub Gin.
This all stemmed from one of our own Tubbies' (Kathy Swartz) son Matt who was a bartender at the time at the bar. After a phone call and all was set for opening night and what a night it was, a full house and a large time was had by all. As the owner was so impressed he wanted to have shag night twice a month but at my recommendation we stay at once a month. This small venue with the uneven boards, nails sticking up, and wide cracks made for some careful dancin'.
The bartenders were always so thankful for the experienced customers that came in on shag night and always looked forward for us being there! As for me, I enjoyed the nights to where I could play that old boogie and blues music that got this wonderful dance started. I just want to give a big thank you to all of our shag family that have supported the Tub over the years and we are a Big Family! Also I want to thank Del for putting up with me all those Friday nights when I might have had one or two many Fireballs. But in the end you guys always know how to make a DJ feel loved and appreciated, and I know we'll find another venue or somewhere to splash!
Thanks to the Bathtub Gin also for letting us spend our Friday nights there! After all this I hear that we will get to continue on, only that the Bathtub Gin will have a new name, so hold your breath and when you come up for air we'll be shagging at a new old different name place!

Don’t forget to sign up for the Fish Fry this Saturday night, July 7thm if you have not already done so. We have to have the club a head count no later than the 17th of July. It will be the same as last year with music by the pool, swimming for those of interest and want to show off that new bathing suit and you know you don’t want to miss all the ‘Hunks” phsique!!! Always a good time with great food, fellowship, and maybe a little dancing and plenty of Adult Libations. Please sign up so we will have an idea of how many we need to cook for.

LAKE NORMAN SHAG CLUB
Lake Norman Shag Club was organized in 1983 to promote the ever-popular dance of the south, "The Shag." Lake Norman Shag Club meets the 1st Saturday night of each month at Cowan’s Ford Golf Club.
Directions: From I-77 Take Exit 25. Go west on Sam Furr Rd (Highway 73). Go past Cowan’s Ford Dam; Turn right at the next light (Club Drive) 1 mile on the left. Address is 761 Club Drive. From Hwy 16. Take Hwy 73 East, go 2 miles, 2nd red light, turn left on Club Drive, 1 mile on the left. 8 Page 9
