GUIDELINES FOR ELIGIBILITY

"Senior Citizens Higher Education Act of 1974"

(Amended 1976, 1977, 1982, 1988, 1999, 2003 and 2015)

A. To be eligible for free tuition and fees for credit courses, part-time or full-time, a person must meet the following criteria:

1. Be 60 years of age or older.

2. Be legally domiciled in Virginia.

3. Had a taxable individual income not exceeding $23,850 for Virginia Income Tax purposes for the year preceding the year in which enrollment is sought. Documentation of income required.

4. Be admitted to a course after all tuition-paying students have been accommodated.

5. Be admitted to the College as a student.

B. To be eligible for free tuition for audit of credit courses or for taking non-credit courses, a person must meet the following criteria:

1. Be 60 years of age or older.

2. Be legally domiciled in Virginia.

3. Be admitted to a course after all tuition-paying students have been accommodated.
