Biodiversitas 19: 640-651. Various species of Araceae plants are widely used by the tribes of Sunda as food. However, cultivation is increasingly rare inWest Java region, and is found in some places only. One area where many people still grow Araceae plants is Cisoka Village, Cikijing Sub-district, Majalengka District, West Java Province, Indonesia. This paper aims to explain the reason for the cultivation of Araceae by the local community in the Village of Cisoka. This study used a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, but the former was used more than the latter The primary data were collected through structured and semi-structured interviews, participant observation, exploration, and plant sample collection. The data were analyzed descriptively with emic and ethic approaches. The results of the study showed that 20 species and 13 varieties (landraces) of Araceae plants were used by the community. -

After graduation from college, he moved to Eastern Oklahoma State College where he took a position as Instructor in Botany and Agronomy. In the course of conducting botany field trips and working with local residents on their plant problems, the author became increasingly interested in the flora of that area and of the State of Oklahoma. This led to an extensive study of the northern portion of the Oauchita Highlands with collections currently numbering approximately 4,200. The specimens have been processed according to standard herbarium procedures. The first set has been placed in the Herbarium of Oklahoma State University with the second set going to Eastern Oklahoma State College at Wilburton. DENGAN METODE GAS KROMATOGRAFI Comparation of Composition and Content of Fatty Acid in Young Coconut and Mature Coconut (Cocos Nucifera L.) with Chromatografi Method Rita Hayati Fakultas Pertanian Unsyiah, Darussalam Banda Aceh ABSTRACT Objectives of this research was to evaluate the differences in composition and contents of fatty acid between the young and mature coconut and to provide information for health aspects. Results showed that content of lauric acid and myristic acid of young coconut were lower than those of mature coconut. Medium Chain Glycerides (MCT) C8 of young coconut was also lower than that of mature coconut. Coconut oil rate of mature and young coconut at this study was 131,80 %.
