Examples of projects Vocational Training in Hotel and Catering Established in 1996/97, the main aim of this project has been to improve human resources through cross-regional co-operation in the areas of education and vocational training. More specifically, this project consisted of a pro- gramme based in the technical college of Pirna-Sonnen- stein in Germany, which gave more than 100 students - including 40 Czech ones - the opportunity to benefit from vocational training in the field of hotel management and Eligible areas catering. Environmental protection and landscape care The general objective of this project, which was set up in 1997, is to help develop and protect the landscape in the Sächsische Schweiz. One specific measure involves intro- ducing a herd of sheep into a nature reserve in Sächsische Schweiz to help make farming and cultivation of the land possible. Project leaders on the German side will help finance the project by commercialising mutton in their region. It is expected that students from the agricultural school in Decin will be able to learn the practice of sheep Contact herding, and in a follow-up project, four herds of fifty Mr W. Ehelechner sheep will be introduced to the Tisa-Sluknov region Bayerisches Staarsministerium für Wirtschaft, (Czech Republic) to help cultivate the land.
