The region of the VVO is divided into 21 fare zones. No matter which service you use or how often you change between various modes of transport: these zones are the basis for your fare rate. Just count the number of zones you are travelling through. The price of your ticket is displayed in the fare overview on the flap at the end of the brochure. FARE ZONES IN THE VVO Prices are based on number of zones travelled through. ONE TICKET. FOR EVERYTHING. Just get aboard. One fare system covers all means of transport: Use regional trains, suburban services, trams, buses and almost all ferries. It does not matter where you purchase your ticket. Just change with ease – thanks to short distances at interchange points and synchronized timetables. Up-to-date vehicles and modern stops and stations guarantee fast and convenient journeys throughout Dresden and the upper Elbe region. The VVO and the 12 transport companies operating within the area offer an extensive network for guests and inhabitants. Your greatest advantage: the VVO-ticket. You just need one ticket for train, bus, tram and most Elbe ferries. It is only available at a standard rate. Just stamp a section for each short trip. You can neither change nor pause your trip. A notice at your stop or station shows, how far you can go with your short trip ticket. Furthermore an overview of all short trips on the railways can be found at www.vvo-online.de/Kurzstrecke. PLEASE NOTE Single tickets cannot be used on the Dresden mountain rail- ways, on the Meissen city tour, on the narrow gauge railways, on the Kirnitzschtalbahn, on the elevator in Bad Schandau or for on-call shared taxi services. 6 7 DAY TICKETS Day tickets are a sensible alternative for single tickets when you take more than two trips per day. They become even more attractive when used by several persons together. For trips in 1st class of regional trains extra tickets are available. TIP In connection with valid day tickets reduced rates apply on the Dresden mountain railways, the Meissen city tour and the Kirnitzschtalbahn in Bad Schandau. Day tickets are not valid on the narrow gauge railways, on the elevator in Bad Schandau or for on-call shared taxi services. 8 9 DAY TICKETS ELBE-LABE For trips to the Czech Republic the VVO and the district of Ústí n.L. (DÚK) offer the day ticket Elbe-Labe (Jízdenka Labe-Elbe). Prices (in EUR) Day ticket for one person Elbe-Labe Validity VVO region and district of Ústí n. L. 20,00 The Elbe-Labe-Ticket is valid in the entire VVO region, on all cross-border train services between Rumburk, Dolní Poustevna, Family day ticket Elbe-Labe Bad Schandau, Děčín and Litoměřice, on the ferry between VVO region and district of Ústí n. L. 28,50 Schöna und Hřensko, on the bus 398 between Altenberg and Teplice, on the bus 217 between Bahratal, Tisá and Rosenthal, Small group ticket Elbe-Labe on the bus 435 between Schmilka and Česká Kamenice as well as on the bus 452 from Ústí n.
