SUPPLY LIST AND CLASS POLICIES

From couture fashion to designer décor, piping defines seams and edges with added panache. Learn the ins and outs of presser feet, filler cords, and stitching techniques used to make piping for any or all of your projects. We will learn Three-step piping, piping curves and corners, mini piping and Jumbo Piping uses.

Piping Presser Feet to be demonstrated/used in class:

 Bulky Foot #12/12C  Clear Applique Foot #23  Leather Roller Foot #55  Piping Foot #38 If you have any of these feet, please bring them to class for teaching purposes. You will need them to construct your projects. Feet not required for class, we will have all feet available for class use.

We will be making multiple projects: One decorator pillow, One piped fabric piece for wallet or purse.

SUPPLIES YOU WILL NEED:

 Narrow (2mm)  Isacord Polyester to match your fabrics for class. Bring colors to match both the decorator fabrics and the fat quarter fabrics below.  Clothesline piping or filler cord for making our own piping  Needles 90/14, and 80/12  Wonder Tape  Four Fat quarters of coordinating fabrics  1 yard cotton fabric for cutting bias strips, This fabric should be a solid color to match your four fat quarters. Do not pre- any of these pieces.  Ruler with 45 degree angled lines on it, for cutting bias strips  One decorative 20” to match your decorator fabrics below  1 ½ yard Gros ribbon to match decorator fabrics, could be a contrasting color if you desire  Jumbo Designer Decorator Piping (available at Joann’s) Edge pillow  One 18” x 18” pillow form  Decorator weight fabric or fabric pieces for pillow pieces  (clean and in good order with a new 80/20 needle) Make sure you know how to use your machine, that you have used it recently and it is working properly. If you are not using a Bernina machine, please bring your user manual just in case you might need it to assist the teacher.  Bring your Foot pedal, power cord, knee lift (if you have one) and slide on table. CLASS POLICIES

1. Registration can be made in person, by mail or telephone. 2. A deposit of at least 50% is required at the time of registration for class. 3. Please remember, respect others by not using cell phones in class and do not wear perfume or scented lotions in class. 4. Phone reservations accepted with credit card payment only. 5. Each class has a minimum student requirement. The Sewing Palace reserves the right to cancel or postpone a class due to lack of enrollment. Every effort is made to fill the class, but if the class has to be cancelled we will notify you in advance and refund your money with a store credit. 6. We commit to our teachers and ask your commitment in return. Teachers spend a lot of time preparing for classes; therefore, class fees are not refundable if you do not attend a class that is not cancelled. 7. Classes begin at the scheduled times. Please feel free to come in 15 minutes early to set up your supplies so class can start on time. 8. Class supply lists should be picked up when you register. Books and patterns that are required for class must be purchased to prevent copyright violations. 9. The Sewing Palace would like to thank you for taking classes with us. A 15% discount if given on class supplies when you sign up and pay your registration fee. This discount for supplies for this one class will be given through the day of class. 10. Several classroom machines are available on a first come-first served basis. Let us know at the time of registration if you need to reserve one. 11. Cell phones are not permitted in any of our classes, clubs or lectures. Please be respectful of the teacher and other students by putting them on vibrate if you are expecting an urgent call. The store number may be left with your family for emergency calls 443-5724. 12. Class registration fee allows one person to attend. Please no children or visitors in class.

CLASS FEES ARE REFUNDABLE WITH A 3 DAY ADVANCE NOTICE.

Please review your supply list and make sure you bring the listed items. Feel free to ask questions if you are unfamiliar with an item listed on your supply list. If you have registered for a sewing class you should bring basic sewing supplies.

Basic Sewing Supplies: Sewing machine in good working order, foot control, power cord, slide on table, machine needles, thread, seam ripper, small scissors for fabric, paper scissors, quilting pins, extra bobbins pre-wound, rotary cutter, cutting mat, ruler, paper & pencil
