Thank you for your interest in Sigma Iota Rho!

In order to qualify for membership, students must meet the following criteria: • Have attained a junior standing by the end of Spring 2018 (56 credit hours) and completed at least 21 hours of coursework towards a major/certificate/minor in the School of Global and International Studies, including at least two courses at the 300 or 400 levels; • Working towards a School of Global and International Studies major, certificate, or minor (for example, International Studies, African/India/Islamic Studies, REEI, CEUS, NELC, etc.); • Have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher, and a GPA of at least 3.4 in School of Global and International Studies courses.

Successful applicants will be asked to pay one-time dues of $50, which will cover fees required by the National Office, the local chapter, and induction materials. You will join a select group committed to the advancing the study of international affairs.Sigma Iota Rho members are people for whom international affairs is of constant interest.

The chapter’s participation requirements stand as follows: • Attendance of general meetings, with only one absence per semester (two per academic year), or as determined by the chapter’s executive committee; • Attendance of meetings of committees of which one is a member, with only one absence per semester (two per academic year); • Participation in the work of at least one committee.

Please save the application to your computer and then open it in Adobe Acrobat. We look forward to receiving your application by 11:59 PM on February 17th and, hopefully, will see you at the induction ceremony on April 28th. Acceptances and information for paying dues will be sent in late March.
