Gioconda Espina - Sociólogo Albert Gruson RESUMEN El presente estudio aborda la reconstrucción de la historia social y eclesial de uno de los movimientos sociorreligiosos católicos contemporáneos de Venezuela, la llamada Corriente Venezolana de la Teología de la Liberación (CVTL), expresión nacional de un movimiento latinoamericano mayor al que se denomina Movimiento Latinoamericano de la Teología de la Liberación (MLATL). La historia de la CVTL (1973-1992) es ubicada en el contexto socioclesial próximo (1966-1972), así como en el amplio contexto socioclesial remoto previo a 1965, en el que se recrea una síntesis de la historia y los rasgos estructurales de la Iglesia Católica en Venezuela con especial atención a las relaciones que ésta ha mantenido con el conjunto de la sociedad. Concebido como un trabajo de sistematización, organización y análisis preliminar del objeto sobre el cual sea posible fundar futuras investigaciones a partir de diferentes marcos teóricos, este estudio contiene constantes referencias a las distintas posibilidades interpretativas del significado e impacto socioeclesial de la CVTL que ofrecen las teorías señaladas. El trabajo fue acometido mediante una combinación de técnicas documentales a partir sobre todo de fuentes secundarias y de entrevistas semiestructuradas en profundidad practicadas a informantes privilegiados ubicados en el Área Metropolitana de Caracas. El resultado de este estudio es una síntesis de los hitos fundamentales de la historia social y eclesial del objeto en la que se toman en cuenta las múltiples determinaciones que sobre él han ejercido procesos mundiales, regionales y nacionales tanto de carácter social como propiamente eclesial.

BREVE HISTORIA DE LA MUY NOBLE VILLA DE AGUILAR DE CAMI'00 A modo de presentación Un ruego de alnigos palentinos, que conocen mi simpatía por su provincia, país de algunos antecesores míos por ambas líneas, me mueve a escribir sobre la villa de Aguilar de Campóo, tema para mí tan grato. Ello me ha servido para recordar los años de mi infancia• y juven- tud, en que, imitando al personaje inmortalizado por Pereda en «Peñas arril^a», dejando las llanuras de la zona del espino, subí a Amaya, donde ví por primera vez los saltos de agua de su Peña, y aspiré el fragante olor del heno recién segado. Después de hacer escala en la casa de mayurazgo de los González Bravo, primer ejemplar de casa grande montañesa que conocí, tomé con mi padre el camino de Puentetoma, admirando al paso la grandeza de ambas Peñas, oí los graznidos de las numerosas aves que en sus oquedades anidan y los ecos repetidos por el piafar de nuestras cabal- gaduras al chocar con la roca del camino, todo ello nuevo para mí. Pronto, en Rebolledo de la Torre, admiré en fondo de bosques la romántica estampa de su castillo y barbacana, al par que el incompara- ble pórtico románico de s:i iglesia, obra de Juan de Piasca; y ascen- diendo siempre, admiré en Castrecias el exótico molino de viento regu- lado por un auténtico Inanchego; y por caminos y sendas bordeados de carrascos, madreselvas en flor, avellanos y arbustos desconocidos, ]legamos al valle de Gama, en el que se asienta Puentetoma, donde vivía el último mayorazgo de los Bravo, Don Fermín, gran amigo del célebre Sordo de Proaiio, personaje de las novelas del escritor citado, y como él soltero y entusiasta de la tradición, que nos acogió con inde- cibie cariño, amenizando nuestra estancia con la relación de sus comu- nes andanzas por Reinosa y Proaño.

    SOCIETY AND DEVELOPMENT DOI: 10.12797/Politeja.10.2013.24.18 Agustín Moreno Molina Andrés Bello Catholic University Venezuelan Catholic Church over the 19th and 20th centuries Abstract The Catholic Church is a binding element for understanding the historical proc- ess of Venezuela after the three hundred years of Spanish rule, during which time, and along with the various forms of institutions inherited from the mother coun- try, customs and values ​​were established that contributed to the development of the country. In this essay, we make an assessment of the role of the Catholic Church during the independence process, of its conflicts with the new republic during the second half of the nineteenth century, and the gradual recovery of its social presence during the dictatorship of Juan Vicente Gómez. Then, with the onset of representative democracy, the Church’s relation with the political power becomes regularized within a legal framework that allows it to continue in the exercise of his pastoral duties in a climate of respect and collaboration, but with a critical sense to the great problems of society.
