Practical Information Practical Information Hotel We have made a hotel reservation for you at the Thon Hotel Europa. St Olavs gate 31 NO-0166 Oslo Telephone: +47 23 25 63 00 Fax: +47 23 25 63 63 [email protected] http://www.thonhotels.com/europa Picture: http://www.thonhotels.com/see-pictures-and-videos/?referer=69 The hotel will bill us directly (however, you must pay for any extra services such as room service, minibar etc when you check out). Travel to the Hotel Leaving Oslo Airport Gardermoen, I would recommend that you take the Airport Shuttle Train (in Norwegian: Flytoget) towards Oslo/Asker/Drammen, to the Nationaltheatret station. http://www.flytoget.no/eng/ Please be careful to take a train with Asker or Drammen as the final destination. One out of two shuttle trains has Oslo (i.e.: Oslo S, the Central Station) as their final destination, whereas Nationaltheatret is the stop after Oslo S. Arriving at Nationaltheatret station, choose the exit towards Karl Johans gate. When you get out of the train station you are at the 'T' (the white T-letter in a blue circle) in the map. You will see the National Theatre building in front of you. To the left you'll see Karl Johans gate and the Faculty of Law buildings (three traditional buildings around a square). As the map shows, Frederiks gate is the most convenient walking route from the train station to the hotel (the blue line). Reimbursement We need original receipts to reimburse your expenses. Please fill in the other attached document corrctly, follow the example. .

It is a pleasure to welcome you all to this exciting and cutting-edge meeting. The meeting is the second in an ambitious series of international cancer meetings initiated and generously funded by Norsk Hydro’s Fund for Cancer Research at the Institute for Cancer Research. For us in CAST Cancer Stem Cell Innovation Centre, though, it is our first meeting of this calibre, and it has been a challenge and given us some worries to plan all the details. We hope it will turn out to be a success, which would be mostly due to the fantastic panel of top level speakers selected by our scientific advisory board, and your own active participation. As we had a very good response from the invited speakers, the programme may be a bit busy, but we hope you will have good opportunity for interaction during the breaks and the more social evening events.

Monthly Activity Log _________________________________________________________________________________________________ -- August, 2015 -- I arrived in Oslo in mid August. Upon arrival, I took Flytoget to the citycentre, Oslo S. I then went to a Narvesen branch (A Norwegian convenience store) inside the station to purchase a ruter monthly pass. A line 6 train towards Sognsvann was taken and I got off at Kringsja, where my dorm locates. There should be a lot of cooking utensils in the kitchen and hence, you are advised to do a kitchen inspection before going to IKEA for necessities. A few days later, I started to explore Oslo with my friends. We visited most of the renowned city attractions such as Akershus Fortress, Opera House, Sculpture Park, Sognsvann Lake and Homenkollen etc. At the end of the month, we went further to another city in Norway, Stavanger. We joined a fjord tour whose name is Lysefjord in a nutshell. The tour was held in a laissez faire style. (You may regard this as the Norwegian style J) The fjord cruise was pretty enjoyable.
