You will find us on the 2nd floor in a red brick building opposite to the football stadium. The building bears a sign with ‘Universitetet i Oslo’ and the entrance is between the buildings of number 68 and 70. From the city centre to ARENA Take the metro (T-bane, marked by a blue ‘T’) from Nationaltheatret to Ullevål Stadion by the westbound lines #4 Ringen, #3 Storo or #6 Sognsvann (four stops). All lines leave from the same platform. The cost of a single ticket is NOK 30 and tickets must be purchased in advance (see more here: https://ruter.no/en/buying-tickets/tickets-and-fares/single-tickets/). See below for a map of the metro lines in Oslo (operated by Ruter#). Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL) Oslo Airport Gardermoen is roughly 50 km north of Oslo, and the Airport Express Train (Flytoget) is the fastest way of getting to the city centre. The train leaves every 10 minutes from Oslo Airport Gardermoen to Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), and every 20 minutes to the station Nationaltheatret (train continuing to Drammen). The ride takes 22 and 25 minutes, respectively, and the cost is NOK 180 (€20). Tickets are available at ticket counters and vending machines at the airport, but the most convenient option is E-ticket. E-tickets are purchased by credit card at card readers in the Arrival hall (before the stairway to the platform). Electronic receipts (for reimbursement) may be printed afterwards by registering here: https://minside.flytoget.no/en#/ For timetables and additional information on E-tickets etc., please see the Airport Express Train’s website: www.flytoget.no From OSL to ARENA Take any of the airport express train departures and get off either at Oslo S (Oslo Central Station) or Nationaltheatret. The metro station (T-bane) at the central train station Jernbanetorget is connected to Ullevål Stadion by the westbound lines #4 Ringen, #3 Storo or #6 Sognsvann (six stops). From Nationaltheatret you can take the same lines, only four stops. All lines leave from the same platform. From OSL to Scandic Victoria Take the Airport Express Train direction Drammen (departure every 20 minutes, note that trains with Oslo S as their final destination will not take you all the way) and get off at Nationaltheatret, which is located only a short walk from Scandic Victoria Hotel (500 m). Make sure to use the exit Stortingsgata (underground, via the metro station) when leaving Nationaltheatret station, not Ruseløkkveien (the first exit on top of the escalator) or Parkveien/Henrik Ibsens gate (which will take you in the complete opposite direction, behind the royal palace). Follow the street Stortingsgata (parallel to the main street Karl Johan) in a southeast direction towards the parliament (Storting). Take a right on Rosenkrantzgata.     HOW TO GET TO TØI TØI’s offices are located on the 5th and 6th floors of the CIENS building in the Oslo Research Park (Forskningsparken). We recommend that one uses the subway (T-bane), tram or bus to get to TØI. There is presently extensive construction activity in the area and parking facilities are therefore limited. If you have questions we recommend that call TØI at tel. +47 22 57 38 00. By subway (T-bane) From the city center, take line 3 Sognsvann, 4 Ringen or 5 Storo in a westward direction. Get off at Blindern station and cross the footbridge to get to the other side. Follow the walking path along the right side of the building and follow the signs to Forskningsparken. If one is travelling with line 6 Ringen or 4 Bergkrystallen (counterclockwise), get off at Blindern station. Follow the walking path along the right side of the building and follow the signs to Forskningsparken. By tram From the city center, take line 17 or 18 in the direction of Rikshospitalet. Get off at the Forskningsparken stop and follow the signs to Forskningsparken. By bus Take line 23 (Lysaker-Simensbråthen) and get off at the Gaustad stop. If one is coming from the west, follow the signs to the Forskningsparken. If one is coming from the east, cross the footbridge over the motorway. Follow the signs to Forskningsparken. By car Drive the Ring 3 motorway either from the east or west. Between Gaustad and Ullevål stadium, take off at the exit and follow the sign to Rikshospitalet.

Practices, relations and aspirations among youth in Hovseter and Røa. http://www.duo.uio.no/ Trykk: Reprosentralen, University of Oslo II Abstract This aim of this thesis is to explore how youth life unfolds in Hovseter and Røa, two neighbouring areas characterised by social and spatial contrasts. Located in Oslo’s affluent West End, Hovseter stands out in this social and spatial landscape of detached and semi-detached houses and upper-middle-class ethnic majority residents due to its higher share of working-class and ethnic minority residents, tall apartment blocks, and social housing apartments. Policies on social mix in the Norwegian welfare state constitute the context for the thesis, in which policymakers aim to counter segregation and encourage social and cultural integration by promoting a diversity of social groups within neighbourhoods. Through the urban area programme Hovseterløftet, a youth club was initiated in order to promote social mixing and social bonds between working-class minority ethnic youths from Hovseter and upper-middle- class majority ethnic youths from Røa. This aim was in line with policies on social mix, in which policymakers assume that youth with less social and economic resources will benefit from creating social relationships with more resourceful peers. It was this particular context that motivated me to ask how social and spatial differences materialised in the daily lives of youths from Hovseter and Røa, how these differences influenced social interactions and relations, and lastly, how they affected the youths’ perceptions of school and their educational aspirations.
