You can purchase the Oslo Pass at the Oslo Visitor Centre inside Østbanehallen, by Oslo Central Station, where Oslo experts will help you plan your stay in our beautiful city. How to use your Oslo Pass 05 The Mobile Oslo Pass (Oslo Pass app for smartphones) The mobile Oslo Pass can only be purchased via the Oslo Pass app (Android or iOS). Before entering an attraction or public transportation please make sure that your Oslo Pass is validated. You will need to be online to activate the pass. The pass will then start counting down the numbers of hours as indicated on your pass. TRANSPORT You only need to show your Oslo Pass in case of a ticket inspection or to the driver when boarding a front entry only bus. Push the “Animation” button in order to access the daily animation. ATTRACTIONS At museums and attractions please show your validated Oslo Pass at the ticket office. Push the “QR-code” button to access the QR-code. The staff will scan the QR-code upon your entry. The Oslo Pass app works offline but you will need to be online every morning in order for the app to download the daily animation.     OECD Studies in Risk Management OECD Studies Norway in Risk Management TUNNEL SAFETY Looking back on the disasters of recent years alone (the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster, Hurricane Katrina, terrorist attacks in New York, Madrid and London, avian flu, the 2003 heat wave in Europe), one could Norway be forgiven for thinking that we live in an increasingly dangerous world. A variety of forces are helping to shape the risks that affect us, from demographic evolutions to climate change, through the development TUNNEL SAFETY of mega-cities and the rise of information technology. These changes are clearly a major challenge for risk management systems in OECD countries, which have occasionally proved unable to protect the life and welfare of citizens or the continuity of economic activity. The OECD Futures Project on Risk Management Policies was launched in 2003 in order to assist OECD countries in identifying the challenges of managing risks in the 21st century, and help them reflect on how best to address those challenges. The focus is on the consistency of risk management policies and on their ability to deal with the challenges, present and future, created by systemic risks. The Project covers a range of risk management issues which were proposed by the participating countries and together form three thematic clusters: natural disasters, risks to critical infrastructures, and the protection of vulnerable population groups. In the first phase of the Project, the OECD Secretariat prepared a case study for each issue. The studies cover both recent international developments of interest and the national policy context, and come with a tool for self-assessment to be used later in the Project in order to review the national policies in question.

    Det første pornobålet brant på Olaf Ryes plass 27. august 1977. 162 FOTO: BERNT EIDE / KLASSEKAMPEN / ARBARK TRINE ROGG KORSVIK Jentene på Holmenkolbanen Pornokamp og «AKP-bråk» i fagbevegelsen på 1970-tallet I august 1977 kom pornokampen til Norge. Utover høsten stormet aksjo- nister fra kvinnebevegelsen pornobutikker der de forsynte seg med blader som de tok med seg til torgs og brant på bål. Tabloidavisene mesket seg i fortellinger om rasende militante kvinner og mafiøse porno- gangstere. Høsten 1977 satte Senterkvinnene i gang en tverrpolitisk aksjon mot pornografi. Aksjonen utviklet seg etter hvert til å bli den brede bevegelsen Fellesaksjonen mot pornografi og prostitusjon, som i 1983 samlet nesten 40 landsomfattende organisasjoner som represen- terte bortimot en halv million medlemmer.1 At pornokampen i Norge ble utløst av en arbeidskonflikt på Holmenkol- banen, er nok mindre kjent enn fortellingene om de oppsiktsvekkende pornobålene. Den såkalte Holmenkolbanesaken begynte med at konduk- tører spontant reiv ned reklameplakater for «mannfolkbladet» Nye Alle Menn som hang i t-banevognene. To unge kvinnelige sommervikarer, Liv og Rannveig, ble utpekt som ansvarlige for aksjonen og suspendert. De to mente seg utsatt for en politisk oppsigelse og hevdet sin rett til å aksjonere mot forhold på arbeidsplassen som de mente var kvinnedis- kriminerende. Men de fikk liten støtte av de tillitsvalgte ved Holmenkol- banen (HKB), en arbeidsplass som i 1970-åra var preget av harde konflikter mellom marxist-leninister og Arbeiderpartimedlemmer. Til gjengjeld mobiliserte aktivister fra kvinnebevegelsen til støtte for de to jentene, og denne kampanjen ble fra første stund satt i sammenheng med kamp mot pornografi.

Oslo is Norway’s capital and largest city. With around 625 000 inhabitants within the city limits, close to a million inhabitants in the greater Oslo area and home to around 73 000 students, the city have all the advantages of a metropolitan city. With a well-functioning transportation system, it is easy to move around the city with only one ticket. Oslo has become much more international in the last 10-15 years. Trendy cafes, restaurants with cuisines from all around the world, bars and pubs, shopping in different varieties and several modern cinema facilities are among the many things the city has to offer. Oslo hosts more concerts than any other Scandinavian city – and is host to many sporting events. Sites to see There are several remarkable sites in Oslo that is worth a look; Akershus Fortress, the Royal Norwegian Guards detachment ceremony outside the castle, Aker Brygge etc. One of the places to go if you are out sightseeing is the new Opera House, which has won several awards for its iceberg shape architecture.

Doping Control Anti-doping testing may take place during the event according to FIS rules. Insurance All the athletes have to be insured through their National Ski Associations. Photo: Øystein Grue Time for trains The past year marked the 150th anniversary of the railways in Norway and proved a worthy celebration. Punctuality has never been better, rail traffic is growing, and in summer 2004 the Norwegian Parliament took the historic decision to invest NOK 26.4 billion in developing a competitive rail network over the ten years from 2006 to 2015. In other words, the anniversary year not only provided the opportunity for a nostalgic look back, but also confirmed that the railways will continue to play a central role in the years ahead. In line with Parliament’s decision, value our good working relationship with autumn 2005. This brings us one step clo- Jernbaneverket has drawn up an action the trade unions. The railway has a culture ser to our goal of an efficient, modern rail programme which, if implemented, will and a historic legacy which need to be network in the Oslo region.
