Mobility One-Way: It Allows for One-Way Journeys Between All Manner of Different Towns and Cities Throughout Switzerland PRESS RELEASE Rotkreuz, 4 April 2019 Mobility is doubling its One-Way network Travel from place to place – and simply leave the car where it is: now possible between 29 Mo- bility stations throughout all of Switzerland, now including Aarau, Baden, Geneva, Lausanne, Neuchâtel, Fribourg, Biel and multiple stations in Zurich. Mobility is continually expanding its variety of services. One solution particularly popular with almost 200’000 customers is Mobility One-Way: it allows for one-way journeys between all manner of different towns and cities throughout Switzerland. Mobility has now correspondingly increased the number of stations to around 30. Mobility Communication Officer Patrick Eigenmann is delighted about the devel- opment: “The expansion means that even more people will be able to travel easily and conveniently from A to B in the future. For our customers, One-Way is the ideal supplement to the standard Mobility offer and to our urban free-floating models such as Mobility Scooter. A subscription gives you a wide variety of mobility options at your disposal.” From A for Aarau to Z for Zurich From today onwards, the following stations are now part of the Mobility One-Way network: Aarau Rail- way Station, Baden Brown Boveri Platz, Biel Railway Station, Fribourg Railway Station, Écublens EPFL/Parking Rivier, Geneva Cornavin Railway Station, Lausanne Railway Station, Neuchâtel Railway Station, Nyon Railway Station, Rapperswil-Jona Railway Station, Uster Railway Station, Yverdon Rail- way Station, Zurich Hardbrücke Railway Station, Zurich Tiefenbrunnen Railway Station and Zurich Woll- ishofen Railway Station. They are supplementing the existing station network comprising: Basel Railway Station, Basel Airport, Bern Railway Station, Lucerne Railway Station, Olten Railway Station, Rotkreuz Suurstoffi, Solothurn Railway Station, St. Gallen Railway Station, Sursee Railway Station, Winterthur Railway Station, Zug Railway Station, Zurich Altstetten Railway Station, Zurich Airport and Zurich Main Station. “Our goal is to be able to integrate Geneva Airport soon too,” Eigenmann explains: “Then we would be ideally posi- tioned throughout Switzerland.” Fair prices The 30 One-Way vehicles are particularly suited to shorter trips, travelling to Basel or Zurich airports or for journeys at times with limited public transport. The kilometre and hourly rates are billed at the same prices as the rest of the Mobility offer (combi category: CHF 0.80/km, CHF 3/h), plus a surcharge of between CHF 7 and CHF 29. This surcharge varies according to route length, season and load.     «ZüriSee – Uferleben – Leben am Ufer» Grundlagen, Folgerungen und Massnahmen zur nachhaltigen Aufwertung Zürichsee Landschaftsschutz Die Ufer am Zürichsee verdienen unser Interesse Seelandschaft ist Lebensraum. Seit jeher verändert er sich ständig – durch natürliche Entwicklungen und Eingriffe des Menschen. Wir haben die Chance, den Lebensraum Zürichsee und seine Ufer als Ganzes aktiv mitzugestalten. Weitblick, Wissen um die Zusammenhänge und Interesse für die Belange der Natur schaffen die Voraussetzungen für eine gute Entwicklung. Dieser Prospekt gibt Einblick in die Forschungsarbeit des Projekts «ZüriSee – Uferleben – Leben am Ufer», verweist auf die ökologischen Zusammenhänge, die Veränderungen und ihre Gründe und zeigt Handlungs- und Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten auf. Zürichsee Landschaftsschutz (ZSL) will damit die Menschen am Zürichsee für die Natur in ihrem Lebensraum sensibilisieren und sie motivieren, aktiv an einer positiven Umgestaltung mitzuwirken. Untersuchungen des Lebens am Ufer Mit dem starken Rückgang der Schilfbestände am Ufer des Zürichsees wuchs auch die Sorge um die Erhaltung der intakten Landschaft um den See. Seit 1979 wird der Zustand des Röhrichts am Zürcher Ufer des Zürichsees regelmässig untersucht. Im Rahmen des Programms ZSL konnte die Kartierung der Röhrichtbestände auf die Anrainerkantone St. Gallen und Schwyz ausgedehnt wer- den. Jetzt liegt eine einheitliche Bestandesaufnahme der Ufervegetation für den ganzen See vor. Erhebungen zur Tierwelt, vor allem zu Vögeln und Libellen, ergänzen das Bild. In den letzten vier Jahrzehnten kam aber nicht nur die wissenschaftliche Beobachtung zum Zug. An zahlreichen Stellen des Sees wurden Schutz- und Sanierungsmassnahmen getroffen zur Regenera- tion von Röhrichtbeständen und erodierten Ufern. Allerdings ist der Erfolg dieser Massnahmen noch nicht überall sichtbar. Erfahrungen aus Regenerationsprojekten am Bodensee und am Bielersee konnten einbezogen wer- den.

    Postal Markings and Cancellations in Switzerland & Liechtenstein Forward Shortly after this document was completed, a separate handbook on Swiss Railway Postmarks, by Alfred Müller and Roy Christian was published in 1977. In this more recent publication, Müller and Christian list the Travelling Post Office (TPO) cancellations according to the groupings recorded in the earlier handbook of Swiss Postal Cancellations “Grosses Handbuch der Schweizer Abstemplungen”, by Andres & Emmenegger. In recent years this latter publication has become known in its abbreviated form “Abstempelungs-Werk”, or simply “AW”. Felix Ganz, the author of the edited version you are about to read, used his own numbering system to describe the various different Key Types and Sub-Types of railway post office cancellations he had encountered. For the benefit of student philatelists interested in the Swiss Travelling Post Office, I have included the corresponding AW Group and Type alongside Felix’s original recordings. These appear in parentheses, in red bold type, e.g. (AW 83C/1) Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy from the original article, with additional information inserted wherever appropriate.
