Minutes of Parish Council Planning Meeting held on 5th October 2020 via Zoom

1. Public forum for discussion of Planning Applications only. Four members of the public spoke. Three voiced the opposition to HS2s proposal for a new roundabout at Little Missenden and asking for the support of the Parish Council. The other resident was asking for support from the Parish Council in her opposition of the development at Trelee Farm.

4. To receive and approve the previous Planning Committee Meeting Minutes for 7th September 2020. It was resolved by Council that the minutes were a true reflection of the meeting.

5. HS2 update: Guest Speaker – Andy Cordiner reported that he has been liaising with residents of Little Missenden to explain what HS2 are proposing and why and the need to come up with alternatives. The majority of people are against the roundabout on the grounds of it’s location, noise, light pollution and rat running through Little Missenden. Two residents have produced possible alternatives, one is to put a roundabout closer to Pipers Wood and the other is to widen the gap at the bottom of the Pipers Wood junction. Another solution could be for there to be a roundabout at the Chiltern Hospital junction so that lorries could turn around and go back to site rather than try to cross the dual carriageway. He stressed that it is very important to work with Council and HS2 to persuade them of the merits of the proposals. He is hopeful of a meeting with Align and HS2 on the 7th or 14th October and for Bucks Council and Parish Council representatives to attend. A resident asked what individuals can do to assist in objections. Mr Cordiner said it would be best if people could wait until a meeting has taken place to see what the outcome is and a decision can then be made on how best to object. In answer to another question Mr Cordiner said that there are 200 HGVs at Little Missenden vent shaft per day.
