National Park PDNPA The national park management plan includes actions to: Management Plan (a) build on success of first stage of Pedal Peak and extend trails to Matlock and Buxton (b) develop enhanced cycling opportunities and experiences in and around the Peak District (c) improve visitor experience and manage impact at visitor hubs and gateways, and make better connections into the national park (d) deliver planned network improvements to rights of way National Park Local PDNPA The proposals are in line with the principals set out in the LDF adopted October 2011: Development Framework In particular: RT1: Recreation, environmental education and interpretation T1: Reducing the general need to travel and encouraging sustainable transport T5: Managing the demand for rail, and reuse of former railway routes T6: Routes for walking, cycling and horse riding, and waterways Sustainable Transport PDNPA Long term ambition for the STAP is Action Plan 2012 “for the national park to be known as a place you can easily and inexpensively travel to, within and from, without a car [with a] choice of travel options making public transport, walking and cycling more attractive and part of the national park experience”. The plan includes short term actions to (a) develop a plan for a strategic cycle network, including linking to surrounding urban areas and hubs (b) complete the White Peak Loop (c) work with bus operators so they can carry bikes on buses (d) influence the next rail stock so it can carry more bikes (e) examine options for cycle hire at locations across the Peak District Local Economic Most LEPs relating to the Peak District include priorities on tourism and the economy. Our proposed package Partnerships will improve infrastructure in a way that enables the visitor economy to grow. Tackling climate change. Better safety and security. Promoting equality of opportunity. Improving quality of life and promoting a healthy natural environment.

It will also contribute to the achievement of all 13 of the LTP environmental objectives. SCR Transport Strategy Sheffield City It specifies the goals that our transport system needs to meet in order to achieve this vision.
