Mahmoud Darwish (1941-2008) a Palestinian poet who is considered one of the most important poets in the world. He contributed in developing modern poetry and introduced the use of symbolism into it. Mahmoud Darwish’s books deal with resisting the occupation until he was knows as the “poet of the Palestinian resistance”. His work include "Memory for Forgetfulness" and “Journal of an Ordinary Grief”.

Radwa Ashour (1946-2014) is an Egyptian storyteller, novelist and a literary critic. Her literary publications are distinguished by their themes of national and human liberation, in addition to historical novels. Some of her works have been translated into many languages, including English, Spanish, Italian and Indonesian. Her work includes “Granada" and "The Woman from Tantoura"

Ahmed Rashid Thani (1962-2012) is an Emirati poet, heritage researcher and playwright. Interested in poetry and collecting and recording oral heritage. His poems have been published in several newspapers and magazines in the UAE and abroad. He has participated in many Arab and international poetry forums and literary festivals. He published a number of books including "Yati Allayl Wayakhudhuni " and "Hasat Alsabr ". Habib Yousef Al-Sayegh (1955-2019) is an Emirati poet and writer. He worked as the editor-in-chief of the Emirati newspaper (Al Khaleej), and chaired the board of directors of The Emirates Writers Union, and was the first person from the GCC to chair the position of The General Union of Arab Writers. In 2004, he was awarded the Taryam Omran Prize in the category of Journalism Pioneers. He has published a number of books including : “Wardat Alkuhulat" and "Almlamh". Sultan Al Owais (1925-2000) is an Emirati poet and a businessman. He is the founder of "Al Owais Award" for literary creativity, which honors Arab writers and thinkers. He is considered the link between two generations of writers, and at the forefront of poets in the Emirates. His works include "Diwan Sultan Al Owais " and “Fi Maraya Alkhalij." Naguib Mahfouz (1911-2006) is an Egyptian novelist and writer. He is the first Arab writer to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Mahfouz’s literature is classified as a realistic fiction. Some of his works have been made into films and television series, this include “Sugar Street” and “The Mirage”. His work include “Children of Gebelawi” and “Palace Walk”. Nizar Qabbani (1923-1998) is a contemporary Syrian poet and diplomat. His first collection of poems was published in 1944, entitled “Qalit li al-Samraa”. He founded a publishing house for his works in under the name “Nizar Qabbani Publications”. He has won many literary prizes, including the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Award for Cultural and Scientific Achievement for the year 1993. His works include "Balqis" and “Al Rasm Bel Kalimat”.

Orhan Pamuk (1952) is a Turkish writer and novelist. He is the first Turkish novelist to win the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2006. Pamuk is considered one of the prominent and contemporary writers in Turkey, his works have been translated into 34 languages so far. His work include "My Name Is Red" and "The Black Book."

Qassim Haddad (1948) is a contemporary poet from . He became an editor-in-chief of Kalimat magazine, which was published in 1987. He received many literary prizes, including the prize of the Lebanese Cultural Forum in in 2000. Qassem Haddad's poetry was translated in many foreign languages. His work include “Thlathwn Bhraan Lilgharqa" and Eilaj Almasafata".

Abdul Rahman Munif (1933-2004) is a Saudi writer and critic. He is considered one of the most important Arab writers and novelists of the twentieth century. Munif has won many prizes, including the Forum Prize for Creative Fiction. Some of his most famous work include "Cities of Salt" and “East of the Mediterranean”.

Ghazi Al Gosaibi (1940-2010) is a Saudi poet, writer, diplomatic ambassador and a minister. He has published many literary works that made him one of the most prominent Saudi writers. He held many government positions, including Ambassador to Britain in 1992 and Minister of Labor in 2005. His work include "A Life in Administration" and the Poetry Collection " From The Orient And The Desert "

Saud Alsanousi (1981) is a Kuwaiti writer, novelist, and a member of the Kuwaiti Writers Association and the Kuwaiti Journalists Association. His novel “The Bamboo Stalk” won the 2013 International Prize for Arabic Fiction. Some of his works have been translated into many languages, including English, Italian and Korean. His work include " Mama Hissa's Mice" and " Naqatan Saliha". Jokha Alharthi (1978) is an Omani writer and academic. She is the first Arab person to win the Man Booker International Prize for her novel " Celestial Bodies" that was translated into English. She has published many short stories and novels, such as "Naarnijat" and "Manamat.

Dr. Rafia Obaid Ghubash (1956) is an Emirati doctor, writer, researcher and one of the most important Arab women leaders who received her PHD in psychiatry from UK. Dr. Rafia was the first woman who was appointed Dean of the Medical Collage at the university of UAE, as well as the president of the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain. She has written more than fifty research paper on mental health, and published ten books about the history and biographies of pioneering women. She has also established the first woman museum in the in December 2012 in , and it is considered one of her most important social cultural achievement. Her works include "Aimra'a Sabaqat Eusruha " and "Encyclopedia of Emirati Women". Mohammed Ahmed Al-Murr (1955) is an Emirati writer and storyteller. He has held many positions in institutions and academic councils in the UAE, including the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Literature Foundation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation. He has published 15 collections of stories including " Hikayat Dubai" and" Ghamzat Mona Lisa”. Ahmed Al Asam (1964) is an Emirati poet and writer. He was elected as a member of many literary councils, and was the vice president of the Emirates Writers and Authors Union in 2015. He has published more than eight Poetry collections, such as “Almuhmal Fi Alhayata" and 'Asafih Dywfaan La 'Aerifuhum Fi Alzalamata".

Nadia Al Najjar (1974) is an Emirati writer who has published several novels and children's books. Her work have won many awards, including the award for the best Emirati book in the field of creativity at the International Book Fair 2017, for her novel " Thulathiat Alddal ", and the Al Owais Prize in children's literature for her story "Aswat Alealima." Her publications include “Mdayin Allahfata" and "Ghaftan". Maryam Jumaa Farag (1956-2019) is an Emirati writer who is considered a pioneer of the art of short story. She worked in the Ministry of Education and then continued her literary career with literary articles published in the local newspapers on a weekly basis. Her publications include her collection of short stories "Fairouz", "Alnashida" and "Amrah Aistithnayiyat".

Sheikha Mohammed Al Jabri (1966) is an Emirati journalist, poet, and researcher. She held many positions, including a media advisor at Family Development Foundation, and a writer for Al Bayan newspaper. She was awarded the Medal in field of literary leadership “poetry”, as well as honored by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi for being one of the Cultural pioneers. She has published more than 16 publications, including "Alriyaha" and "Hdith allyl".
