Tais Construções originam, através de links metafóricos, as Construções Inacusativas de Personificação (o amor morreu; o carro morreu; o álbum de fotografias morreu) e as Construções Superlativas Nominais e Verbais (morrer de medo; morrer de rir, respectivamente). 5 ABSTRACT This study assumes the theoretical constructs of Cognitive Linguistics (LAKOFF, 1987; FAUCONNIER, TURNER, 2002; SILVA, 1997; SALOMÃO, 1999; MIRANDA, 2000) and focuses on the metaphorical use of the lexicon of MORTE/DEATH in Brazilian Portuguese. The work has as central theoretical scope the Conceptual Metaphor Theory (LAKOFF; JOHNSON, 2002; LAKOFF, 1993) and Construction Grammar (LAKOFF, 1987; GOLDEBERG, 1995; SALOMÃO, unknown). It also considers the discussion concerning the Interaction between Metaphor and Metonymy – as defined by Antonio Barcelona (2003) – and the work of Zoltán Kövecses (2002) on the Scope of Metaphor. Our analysis of the corpus, comprising material gathered through research on the Internet (Editora Abril’s website ), was based on its confrontation with the frame of Morte (Death) – as described in the FrameNet Project of the University of California at Berkeley – based on which emerged the criterion for division into two groups: (1) Protagonist ‘Being’ and (2) Protagonist ‘Entity’. In the Protagonist ‘Being’ group more than 90% of the occurrences involve what we call Nominal Superlative Constructions (Ela morria de medo que a achassem ridícula [she was deadly afraid of being thought of as weird.]) and Verbal Superlative Constructions (Morri de rir com O Auto da Compadecida.[I laughed myself to death when I saw “O Auto da Compadecida”]). According to our analytical hypothesis, such constructions are part of a semantic domain that expresses INTENSITY at the highest end of the scale. The Protagonist ‘Entity’ group recognizes three possible meanings of the word DEATH (“DEATH as ceasing to exist”, “DEATH as stopping to function”, “DEATH as becoming outdated”), from which three new frames are instantiated. As a conclusion, we put together a Construction Network , radially organized in terms of inheritance (GOLDEBERG, 1995 apud SALOMÃO, unknown), starting with the basic frame and having as central Construction the Ergative Construction (as in João morreu. [João died]). Still evoking the basic frame, we have as instantiation of this Central Construction a Causal Ergative Construction (João morreu de cancer. [João died of cancer]). Such constructions then, by metaphorical links, lead to the Ergative Construction of Personification (o amor morreu. [the love is dead]; o carro morreu [the engine died]; o álbum de fotografias morreu [the photo album is dead.] and the Nominal and Verbal Superlative Constructions (to die of fear; to laugh to death, respectively). 6 SUMÁRIO 1. • Media Kit Culture of Fashion
media kit culture of fashion Bringing the fashion bible to the Czech and Slovak markets is both a dream come true and a challenge. When we started putting the first issue together back in spring 2018, we asked ourselves a several questions: Is writing about freedom Vogue enough? Is Olga Havlová Vogue enough? Is putting a second-hand coat on the first cover, in the times of excess and overproduction of luxury goods a strong enough fashion statement? On the other hand, what is and what is not Vogue? VOGUE is not just a magazine about fashion and lipsticks what people often think. Vogue is not a trendsetter. Vogue is a social indicator of style, trends and art movements. Vogue is a trend-maker. Vogue reflects current movements and puts fashion into their context. We believe that the Czech and Slovak Republics deserve their own. We do not want to copy or imitate anyone. We wanted to follow up on the tradition of photography and typography of the thirties, looking for our own aesthetics compatible not only with our history, but also with what is going on in contemporary fashion and culture. That is why Vogue CS is different. It is ours. Czechoslovak. And thus universal. Andrea Běhounková Editor-in-chief historyhistorie Vogue was founded in 1892 by Arthur Baldwin Turnure as a high-society journal. Condé Montrose Nast, the founder of Condé Nast Publications, bought Vogue in 1909 and transformed it into a women’s fashion magazine. It soon became known for its distinctive photographs and high editorial quality.

  • Resident and a Former James Bond, Lent a Touch of Secret Agent Glamour
Monaco Royal Wedding: Prince Albert & Charlene Wittstock Marry In Religious Ceremony (PHOTOS) 6/26/12 4:23 PM Throughout the ceremony, which lasted an hour and a half, both bride and groom wore demure expressions, their eyes mostly downcast. Only as they took their vows and exchanged rings did the solemn facade crack: As they slipped on the 18 carat white gold Cartier rings onto each other's fingers, Albert – in a white military uniform – shot her a wink, and Charlene cracked a broad, sincere smile. BACK TO ARTICLE SHARE 6 / 64 THIS TheSLIDE tears flowed freely down the new princess' face after the ceremony, as she left her bouquet of lilies ADVERTISEMENTof the valley and other white blossoms at the Sainte Devote church – a tradition in Monaco. With photographers shouting for the attention of the A-list guests as they streamed into the palace, the wedding had something of the flavor of a star-studded red carpet at the film festival in neighboring Cannes. British actor Roger Moore, a longtime Monaco resident and a former James Bond, lent a touch of secret agent glamour. The carpet might as well have been a catwalk for British model Naomi Campbell and Czech supermodel Karolina Kurkova – or for Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, who cut a mean figure in his skintight suit. Royal guests included the kings of Sweden and Belgium and Denmark's crown princess. Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the world's Ismaili Muslims, and Empress Farah Pahlavi, wife of Iran's deposed shah, chatted with former French first CURRENT TOP 5 SLIDES lady Bernadette Chirac inside the palace.
