We opened the doors of our first permanent wing on October 1st of this year to 800 joyful students. We are now providing education to three grade levels, 7-9, who if it weren’t for this school would have nowhere else to go. We have come a long way but still have far to go to reach our goal of providing the only free secondary education to 3000 students from the poorest slums of Haiti. Our staff and teachers are working very hard to make sure that each student will never again be left behind and our students are thriving because of you and your support. I want to thank you on behalf of all the students, staff and administration here for your generous and continued support. We have opened our school in the face of the greatest of challenges. We have sweat and toiled for this beacon of hope and the road has been difficult. Please help us to continue to grow as our students grow, each day discovering the joy and pride that comes with acquiring knowledge, knowledge that will allow them to truly change their world, to endow them with the dignity and the tools to remake and rebuild their country. With deepest thanks for all you are doing and continue to do for the children of Haiti. • Media Kit Culture of Fashion
media kit culture of fashion Bringing the fashion bible to the Czech and Slovak markets is both a dream come true and a challenge. When we started putting the first issue together back in spring 2018, we asked ourselves a several questions: Is writing about freedom Vogue enough? Is Olga Havlová Vogue enough? Is putting a second-hand coat on the first cover, in the times of excess and overproduction of luxury goods a strong enough fashion statement? On the other hand, what is and what is not Vogue? VOGUE is not just a magazine about fashion and lipsticks what people often think. Vogue is not a trendsetter. Vogue is a social indicator of style, trends and art movements. Vogue is a trend-maker. Vogue reflects current movements and puts fashion into their context. We believe that the Czech and Slovak Republics deserve their own. We do not want to copy or imitate anyone. We wanted to follow up on the tradition of photography and typography of the thirties, looking for our own aesthetics compatible not only with our history, but also with what is going on in contemporary fashion and culture. That is why Vogue CS is different. It is ours. Czechoslovak. And thus universal. Andrea Běhounková Editor-in-chief historyhistorie Vogue was founded in 1892 by Arthur Baldwin Turnure as a high-society journal. Condé Montrose Nast, the founder of Condé Nast Publications, bought Vogue in 1909 and transformed it into a women’s fashion magazine. It soon became known for its distinctive photographs and high editorial quality.
