It’s about music executive Richie Finestra (played by Bobby Cannavale) trying to run a successful business amid the fast-changing 1970s music scene. “The whole project takes place in 1973 New York,” explains make-up department head Nicki Ledermann, who won an Emmy for her work on the Boardwalk Empire pilot. “It’s about a record label owner and his experiences with the music industry, but we also have flashbacks back to Andy Warhol in the 1960s, as well as scenes set in the 1950s. Let’s start out by introducing yourself—and telling us about your favorite podcast episode or interview. What made it great? Eric Johnson: My name is Eric Johnson and I'm the producer of Recode Decode with Kara Swisher, which is part of the Vox Media Podcast Network. My favorite episode of the show is the interview Kara conducted with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg — an in-depth, probing discussion about how the company was doing after the Cambridge Analytica scandal and the extent of its power. In particular, I really liked the way Kara pressed Zuckerberg to explain how he felt about the possibility that his company's software was enabling genocide in Myanmar; his inability to respond emotionally to the tragedy was revealing, and because this was a podcast and not a TV interview she was able to patiently keep asking the question, rather than moving on to the next topic. Rebecca Reed: My name is Rebecca Reed and I’m an Education Consultant and Host of the Off the Assembly Line podcast. Off the Assembly Line is your weekly dose of possibility-sparking conversation with the educators and entrepreneurs bringing the future to education. My favorite episode was an interview with Julia Freeland Fisher, author of Who You Know. BY ROB BOWMAN Nile Rodgers’ influence on popular music over the past forty years is nearly unfathomable. As a guitarist, songwriter, producer, arranger, and funkster extraordinaire, Rodgers has left his imprint on a stun- ningly wide array of genres including disco, R&B, rock, mainstream pop, hip-hop, and EDM. Looking over the breadth of his career, a case could easily be made that no single individual has had a greater impact on the sound of pop, from the late 1970s to the present day. ¶ Alongside his partner, bass player wunderkind Bernard Edwards, Rodgers wrote and produced hit after hit for Chic, Sister Sledge, and Diana Ross, tearing up both the dance floor and the radio. After Chic broke up and Rodgers and Edwards went their separate ways, Rodgers broke free of the disco moniker and reinvented himself, producing, arranging, and playing guitar on David Bowie’s come- back album, Let’s Dance (1983), and Madonna’s breakout album, 69 Like a Virgin (1984). Along the way he took INXS and Chic in their prime then Duran Duran to new heights with “Original Sin” with Rodgers and and “The Reflex,” respectively, and produced albums by Bernard Edwards Mick Jagger, Jeff Beck, the B-52s, and David Lee Roth. center stage, 1979 He played key guitar parts on Steve Winwood’s “High- er Love” and Michael Jackson’s HIStory. More recent- ly he cowrote and played guitar on Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” winning two Grammy Awards in the process. -

NARRATING THE MOVEMENT: A RHETORICAL ANALYSIS ON THE DIGITAL MOBILIZATION, REMIX, AND HIJACK OF #METOO ROCKY ROQUE 129 Pages The Me Too movement garnered digital disclosures after Alyssa Milano’s initial tweet in October 2017. Over the period of two years, different remixes of #MeToo surfaced which led to the subsequent hijack of the hashtag. Furthermore, Boyle (2019) argued that the movement can be studied as a “moment” or a “discourse.” Scholars have examined Me Too as a moment, or a singular occurrence that emerged due to mainstream popularity. However, this analysis will study the movement as a discourse, to reveal the intricate interactions present with each remixed hashtag. Through Fisher’s narrative paradigm, an in-depth analysis was conducted to examine how Twitter disclosures contain narrative coherence and fidelity.
