COMMUNITY Located southeast of Atlanta, Georgia, Eastside High School opened in the Fall of 1994 and is now one of three high schools located in Newton County. The community that Eastside serves can be described as mostly rural, and as of the 2017 census the population was 108,078. The median household income as of 2017 was $52,784 with an estimated 13.4% persons living in poverty. The Newton County School System is currently the single largest employer in Newton County.
