Literatour Berks is bringing some great activities to the community, including author Dawn Raffel’s lecture before the Maimonides Society at the JCC, top left. About 45 people attended the talk, which focused on her fascinating book, “The Strange Case of Dr. Couney.” Above, authors Joni Klein-Higger and Barbara Sharf, lead an afternoon of barnyard fun at Exeter Community Library on Dec. 15. The Literatour Berks event celebrated their board book “Barnyard Bubbe’s Hanukkah.” At right, Rose Leisawitz displays the sheep mask she made that day. By Margo Levin Young and old alike enjoyed the Federation trip to the National Museum of Jewish American Heritage in Philadelphia to view the special exhibit on “The Notorious Ruth Bader Ginsburg.” The group participated in a personal guided tour and learned about the life of the Supreme Court justice. It was both educational and inspirational. The Federation was pleased to bring members of our community together for this worthwhile event. The group also had an opportunity to meet and get to know Adi Shalev, our Shilcha. We invite you to please let us know if you have any suggestions for future outings. We would like to thank all of the attendees for their support and for making the visit to Philly a special day.

JCC community programs are made possible through your contributions to Federation’s Community Campaign. Your support helps connect our community. This month were highlighting a few of the JCC programs you make possible. Thank you for being our partner. We are all working together for one Jewish community.

ב“ה .…AGAIN

We are saddened and outraged at the hate‐crime targeng of Jews in Jersey City, New Jersey. . The shoong marks the third me in less than 14 months that a Jewish community instuon in the United States has been struck.

Our community has been terrorized once again by violent an‐Semism. From Pisburgh to Poway, and now to Jersey City, the diseases that are an‐ Semism and hatred have clearly spread to epidemic proporons. But we will not be defeated, we will not stand down, we will not be inmidated. We will connue to speak up and out every me an‐Semism and bigotry rear their ugly heads and expect the same from our naon’s leaders. We are eternally grateful to the law enforcement officers who, at the cost of their own lives, ran toward danger to protect Jewish people.
