Kiddush for January 2, 2021 was sponsored by Beth & Neil Yelsey In honor of Rabbi Salzberg & Family

We still need a sponsor for this week's "Kiddush".

Future Kiddush Sponsorships

January 16, 23, 30 February 6, 13, 20, 27 March 5, 13, 20, 27 April 3, 10, 17, 24 May 1, 8, 22, 29 June 5, 12, 19, 26

Families are, once again, able to sponsor a “Kiddush” to honor a birthday, anniversary, simcha or commemorate a Yahrzeit -- with a twist. The twist is that instead of an "actual" Kiddush, funds will be used to support our virtual programming -- including our rousing Kabbalat Shabbat service Fridays at 5:30 p.m. and Shabbat morning service at 10:00 a.m. The host family will contribute a suggested minimum of $180.00, 10 times chai. This will enable us to continue celebrating Shabbat together as a community.

If you have a Kiddush date you would like to sponsor, please reach out to Andrea Rothberg or Barbara Saunders-Adams, who are temporarily running this program until a new Kiddush Coordinator can be found.

Social Action

With so many of our neighbors struggling in these challenging times, we are pleased to announce that the Social Action Committee is resuming the PJC’s efforts to assist the food insecure. In 2021, we will begin delivering meals to the CSA Soup Kitchen, which has continued to provide food for those in need through its Grab & Go dinner service.

The PJC has committed to providing meals for at least 65 adults on the second Tuesday of each month starting in January. We are asking for volunteers to provide enough food for at least 10 adults according to the menu below. I have space for many volunteers since none of the food we collect will go to waste. The food can be delivered to Jill and Barry Goldenberg’s home (40 Saldo Circle, New Rochelle) any time between Sunday and 2:30 p.m. that day so that it can be delivered to the soup kitchen for the evening meal.

CLICK HERE to sign up for as many months as possible.

If you have any questions, please contact Jill Goldenberg.
