Gone to Lunch Jennifer Gerth, clarinet William Eddins, piano Biographies Jennifer Gerth, clarinet Jennifer Gerth is in her 24th season as principal clarinet of the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra. A substitute with the Minne- sota Orchestra since 1995, she also performs with the Minnesota Opera, VocalEssence, Northrup Ballet, Minnesota Dance Theater and Mill City Opera. Jennifer performed and toured with the Minnesota Contemporary Ensemble and co-founded The Prospect Park Players, a chamber music group that enjoyed a 7 year residency at Hamline University. An avid lover of chamber music, this year marks her 20th summer at the Festival of the Lakes Chamber music festival. Fall of 2020 begins Ms. Gerth’s 30th year teaching at the collegiate level. She previously taught at the College of St. Benedict, St. Olaf College, St. Cloud State University, Augsburg College, and Gustavus Adolphus College. She has performed masterclasses and concerts throughout the midwest and has appeared as a repeated guest clinician at Midwest Musical Imports’ Clarinet Day. She was teacher (15 years) and faculty soloist at the Birch Creek Summer Performance Center in Door County, WI. Jennifer currently teaches at the University of St. Thomas (since 2000), University of Minnesota (since 2017) and this is her first year teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

Erin Aldridge, violin Erin Aldridge has won numerous awards as both soloist and chamber musician and has been featured throughout , , and the United States. She is a highly sought-after performer and pedagogue, has been published in Strings Magazine. and has been broadcast on National Public Radio, the BBC, Minnesota Public Radio, and Wisconsin Public Radio. Dr. Aldridge attended Indiana University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance. She received her Master’s degree and Performer’s Certificate in Chamber Music Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and was a member of the Leonard Sorkin Institute of Chamber Music under the direction of the Fine Arts Quartet. She continued her studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance. Her primary teach- ers include Mimi Zweig, Josef Gingold, Nellie Shkolnikova, Rostaslav Dubinsky, Efim Boico, and Vartan Manoogian. In 2003, Dr. Aldridge joined the music faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. She serves as Professor of Violin and Direc- tor of Orchestras. She is the Concertmaster of both the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Opera of the North Opera Orchestra, and is on the faculty of the Indiana University Summer String Academy.

William Eddins, piano William Eddins is a husband, father, Taoist, musician, writer, and entrepreneur living and working in the great city of Minneapolis. He has been married to Jennifer Gerth, Principal Clarinet of the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, for twenty years, and they have raised two young men who are musicians and athletes. Bill is the Music Director Emeritus of the Edmonton Symphony Or- chestra, and has also served as Principal Guest Conductor of the National Symphonie of Ireland, Resident Conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Associate Conductor of the Minnesota Orchestra. Bill is co-founder of MetroNOME Brewery LLC, a socially missioned brewery established in the wake of the public unrest during the summer of 2020 with the objective of Nurturing Outstanding Music Education in the Twin Cities Metro. Proceeds from Metro- NOME will go to providing musical instruments, lessons, and education for underprivileged youth in the Twin Cities Metro area. Bill strongly believes that education in general, and music education in particular, is the gateway to a better, more fulfilling life, and he wants to ensure that any child who loves music should be able to find a way to play. Bill has an active and liberal life outside the music world. He is a certified Thai Yoga Massage practitioner who specializes in helping performing artists and athletes, an umpire for the United States Tennis Association, and is in an apprenticeship to become a concert piano technician. His many hobbies include road cycling, cooking, home brewing, and learning. Bill hopes that the music he makes brings you joy. Aram Arakaleyan, piano Pianist Aram Arakelyan is a collaborative artist who performs throughout the United States and around the world. Arakelyan has been a member of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Chamber and Collaborative Music Department faculty since its inception in Fall 2016. He has performed at the Prague Spring Festival, Festival International de Flauta Latino in Monterrey, Mexico, the Schubert Club series in St. Paul, MN, and many others. He has partnered such artists as Patricia McCarty, Dale Clevenger, Marco Granados, and Alberto Almarza. He regularly shares the stage with his esteemed colleagues at the Jacobs School. Aram has held collaborative piano staff positions at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, CA, and the Meadowmount School of Music in Westport, NY. He served as a member of the official collaborative staff at the 2014 Primrose International Viola Competition, and the 2015 International Horn Symposium in Los Angeles. He is currently on faculty at the Indiana University Summer String Acade- my. Arakelyan holds degrees from The University of Utah, The University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Southern California, where upon graduation he was inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda honor society.
