DONOR GUIDE 2020 COMPETITIVE SENATE RACES

THE STAKES ARE HIGH. SAVE THE SENATE! With socialists already controlling the House of Representatives, the Senate is a crucial “backstop” preventing left-wing bills from making it to the Oval Office. The Senate also has sole power to confirm or reject federal judicial nominees. With only a short time left before this election is all over, fiscal conservatives in the most hotly contested races are getting dramatically outspent by their left-wing opponents. Our goal is to rally pro- freedom Americans behind the candidates below and elect ALL of them on November 3rd!

Please do your part by making donations to any or all of the candidates below!

TIER 1 (ENDORSED SENATE CANDIDATES) TIER 2 (SENATE CANDIDATES)

Tommy Tuberville

In his first-ever run for public office, former college football coach and broadcaster has emerged as a powerful advocate for economic liberty and someone we can count on to work with President Trump to restore American jobs and prosperity. President Trump is an active Tuberville supporter, which accounts for a lot in Alabama, and now that Tuberville has won the Republican nomination he’s got a slight edge in the fall matchup against Democrat Senator Doug Jones. While many people may be thinking that this race should be a “slam dunk” because it’s in such a heavily Republican state, we are under no such illusions. Senator Jones may be out of touch with the majority of his constituents, but he’s a savvy campaigner, an effective public speaker, and above all, he’s got more than $8.7 million socked away for the fall campaign. That financial warchest – stuffed with donations from liberals all over the country – is the biggest threat to Tommy Tuberville, who spent heavily to win the GOP nomination. Tuberville is heading into the general election campaign with less than a million dollars in the bank.

In the Senate, Doug Jones has been a conventional liberal who takes orders from on all the key votes. With his paltry 11% Foundation rating, he’s a bad fit for conservative Alabama, making Tommy Tuberville the obvious choice for voters who want to restore economic growth. Tuberville is an anti-tax, conservative who has championed the need to get back to the strong economy we enjoyed during President Trump’s first three years. He also supports and will be a crucial vote for conservative judges. A former Head Coach of Auburn University’s football team, Tuberville has positive “name ID” in the most football- crazed state in America, so as long as he catches up to Jones’s fundraising quickly, he should be able to spread his message and win on Election Day. Let’s make that happen!

TIER 1 (ENDORSED SENATE CANDIDATES) TIER 2 (SENATE CANDIDATES)

Steve Daines

Now finishing up his first term representing Montana, is the principled, free-market conservative we can always count on to stand up against socialism and advance a bold agenda of job growth, , and free enterprise. He has fought for these principles in the Senate, and now he is using his business experience and knowledge of healthcare supply chain to make invaluable contributions in the battle against the Coronavirus. Montana voters have a stark choice facing them, because the Democrat nominee – Governor Steve Bullock – cannot be counted on to restore jobs and prosperity. In fact, he has said repeatedly he doesn’t want to be in the Senate (he first ran for president before dropping out and being begged by Chuck Schumer to run against Senator Daines). Bullock has given Montana no vision for why he is running for Senate. It is clear Bullock will become another vote against President Trump and an ally of Chuck Schumer and the hard-left socialists in the Senate. While not as “ruby red” as Alabama, Montana has a strong GOP tilt and deserves better than having two Democrats in the Senate (they already have Democrat ). In 2016, President Trump defeated here by a 20% margin, so Montanans clearly believe in limited government, low taxes, and economic freedom. That’s exactly what Steve Daines gives them, and with your support through Club for Growth PAC, he’ll win this hotly contested race and cast pro-growth votes for another six years in the Senate.

Martha McSally ARIZONA

Arguably the country’s newest “swing state,” Arizona has become a major focus of both parties in the fight for control over the House of Representatives, the Senate, and even the (some polls show has a small lead here). Except for ’s win in 1996, Arizona has voted Republican since 1952 at the presidential level, but things have clearly changed. The state is “in play” in the race for the White House, and in the Senate election, the Democrat (former astronaut ) has opened a consistent polling lead against incumbent Republican Martha McSally. After narrowly losing a Senate race in 2018, McSally was appointed to this seat. The first female fighter pilot in U.S. history to fly combat missions, McSally previously served in the House of Representatives, where she voted to repeal ObamaCare and pass the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Her main obstacle for re-election is her opponent’s astonishing fundraising success. Something of a “celebrity” in liberal circles, Mark Kelly has raked in a shocking $45 million for this race. To win, McSally will need additional help from donors who want to save capitalism from the Pelosi-Schumer socialists.

Cory Gardner COLORADO

A former Congressman who represented his state’s conservative eastern plains district, Senator Gardner won a narrow, come-from-behind victory over liberal Mark Udall in 2014, and he has gone on to serve as a consistent vote for conservative judges. Unfortunately, his state has continued to move in a liberal direction. During the past six years, Colorado has shifted towards the Democrats (likely aided by left-wing voters moving from California), putting Senator Gardner in a tough position against Democrat nominee . A former Governor of Colorado and Mayor of Denver, Hickenlooper is well-known, and while he has a background as a small businessman, he advances a leftist agenda that will certainly punish anyone looking to start or grow a business in the future. Most polls give Hickenlooper a steady lead, but that will tighten up once voters begin paying attention to the issues at stake. With help from Club donors, Senator Gardner can pull off another come-from-behind victory just as he did six years ago against another well-known, well-funded liberal.

David Perdue

The former CEO of Dollar General, David Perdue had never run for office prior to 2014, when he took his “outsider businessman” message to the people and won an open seat race for U.S. Senate in Georgia. A pro-jobs, pro-capitalism, anti-regulations legislator, Perdue has done vital work with the Trump administration to roll back Obama-era socialism and push our economy to historic heights prior to the coronavirus pandemic. With Georgia also on the list of “Red States” targeted by D.C. Democrats for a potential flip, Senator Perdue is receiving a vigorous challenge from liberal , who shattered fundraising records during his 2017 Special Election campaign for a vacant House seat. Senator Perdue has held a small lead in virtually every poll, but with Ossoff’s formidable small-donor fundraising prowess, along with a powerful Get-Out-The-Vote operation run by the Biden campaign in Georgia, this race will likely go down to the wire. Please do your part by making donations to any or all of the candidates below!

TIER 1 (ENDORSED SENATE CANDIDATES) TIER 2 (SENATE CANDIDATES)

Joni Ernst IOWA

A veteran and former state legislator who won the 2014 GOP Primary with a notable ad campaign promising to make the big-spending lobbyists in D.C. “squeal” (using hog farm imagery), Senator Ernst not only became the first Iowa woman to win a statewide race six years ago, she is also the first female combat veteran to serve in the U.S. Senate. A true “heartland conservative” who puts Main Street first, Senator Ernst voted to get rid of ObamaCare, and she’s been a crucial “YES” vote on more than 200 judges nominated by President Trump. Running for her second term, she is in a neck-and-neck race against a little-known Democrat named Theresa Greenfield, who is benefitting tremendously from Chuck Schumer’s donor network. Iowans are famously conscientious when it comes to elections, so they will be paying very close attention to the candidates and their messages during the final weeks of this race. Financial support from Club donors could help push Senator Ernst to victory.

Susan Collins MAINE

While she is arguably the most centrist member of the Republican Senate Caucus, voted for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, she voted against the Green New Deal, and she crucially provided a “YES” vote to confirm both Justice Gorsuch and Justice Kavanaugh. With the Democrats embracing a militant left-wing agenda, federal court rulings will be crucial to defend private property and free enterprise, and thanks to Senator Collins’ recent work, there are 200 more pro-freedom judges on our federal courts than there were four years ago. In the left-leaning state of Maine, she’s receiving a strong challenge from liberal Sara Gideon, the Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives. Gideon has raked in nearly $24 million, which goes a long way in this tiny state and proves just how motivated the grassroots liberals really are, not just to defeat President Trump, but also to flip control of the Senate. A re-elected Susan Collins will make it that much harder for Chuck Schumer to take over.

John James MICHIGAN

A West Point graduate, combat veteran with service in Iraq, and successful businessman with a compelling message about the power of free enterprise to help families get ahead, John James is the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan for the second consecutive election cycle. He came out of nowhere to give Democrat a tougher-than-expected race in 2018, and now is running another strong campaign against Democrat . With his lifetime Club for Growth Foundation rating of just 7%, Senator Peters stands out as a reliable vote for big government, Big Labor, high taxes, excess regulations, and left-wing judges. With Michigan again serving as a battleground state at the presidential level, this race will be hotly contested, and with enough funding, James has a legitimate chance to defeat the underwhelming Peters.

Thom Tillis

An innovative tax-cutter going back to his days as Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives, Senator Tillis has spent the past six years voting for federal tax cuts. Notably, he was a “YES” vote on “The Penny Plan,” a bold measure aimed at forcing the federal government to reduce discretionary spending before the mounting debt overburdens our economy. North Carolina is another emerging “battleground state” being targeted by the Biden campaign, so Senator Tillis is fighting off a challenge from Democrat state legislator Cal Cunningham. As of this morning, Cunningham has a small lead in the polls as well as a small fundraising advantage, so Club donors are in position to make a decisive difference for Senator Tillis, helping him win a narrow victory. 2020 COMPETITIVE HOUSE RACES

TAKE BACK THE HOUSE!

Nancy Pelosi’s House Democrats are smashing fundraising records, knowing they have to heavily outspend their conservative challengers if they want to hold on to power. With Democrats becoming an increasingly radical party, any expansion of their power in DC will threaten the prosperity and freedom of American citizens today and well into the future. All legislation dealing with taxes and spending must originate in the House of Representatives, so as we emerge from the coronavirus pandemic on a mission to restore economic growth and confront the budget deficit, it is crucial for Congress to be filled with a new generation of fiscal conservative lawmakers.

Please do your part by making donations to any or all of the candidates below!

David Schweikert AZ – 6TH DISTRICT

Congressman Schweikert (CFGF Lifetime Rating: 96%) was elected in the Tea Party wave election of 2010, and has been a strong, pro-growth conservative voice and vote ever since. Though Schweikert’s Congressional District voted for Trump by 10 points in 2016, Schweikert himself had his closest Congressional reelection race ever in 2018, and he is being dramatically outspent in the 2020 cycle. His Democrat opponent – Dr. Hiral Tiperneni – has raised nearly $2.5 million, which is a shocking amount for a non-incumbent.

Mike Garcia CA – 25TH DISTRICT

After disgraced Democratic Rep. Katie Hill resigned from this seat, won the special election on May 12, 2020 giving Republicans their first mid-term pickup since 2011. A Naval Academy graduate and combat pilot with service in Iraq, Garcia is running for a full term in the House in this narrowly divided District. He opposes subsidies and tariffs, understands free markets, and is an outspoken proponent of constitutionally limited government and .

Lauren Boebert CO – 3RD DISTRICT

This seat on Colorado’s Western Slope is currently occupied by Republican U.S. Representative Scott Tipton (CFGF lifetime rating: 74%). Boebert defeated Tipton in the GOP primary, campaigning on a message of economic freedom. While her Democrat opponent has outraised her by a lot, Boebert has a strong chance to win this seat (President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in this district 52% to 40%) and make the House GOP Caucus more conservative. She is a conservative activist who gained public prominence after her confrontation with Beto O’Rourke at a campaign rally went viral. Boebert is a restaurant owner who supports free markets in health care and opposes all tax increases.

Ron Wright TX – 6TH DISTRICT

Ron Wright is running for re-election to a second term in this -area district that has a slight Republican bent. Going back to his days as an Arlington City Councilman, Wright has been an anti-tax crusader with a fierce commitment to fighting eminent domain abuse. A true economic conservative who is never afraid to take on the big-spenders in either Party, Wright is in a competitive race and needs help from conservative donors to prevail.

Richard McCormick GA – 7TH DISTRICT

This suburban Atlanta seat is currently occupied by retiring GOP Representative Rob Woodall, who just barely won re-election in 2018. McCormick won the Republican Primary by embracing a conservative message and showing a firm understanding about the dangers of socialism and debt. He is an emergency room doctor and has 20 years of experience as a pilot and physician in the Marine Corps and Navy.

Jeanne Ives IL – 6TH DISTRICT

This suburban Chicago Congressional District has a strong historical lean towards the GOP, but is currently held by Democrat Rep. . Ives graduated from West Point in 1987 and served in the Army before returning to the private sector as a tax advisor. She believes the business tax cuts were the most important element of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Ives is a proponent of limited government and opposes all tax increases. She is a fiscal hawk that will oppose spending increases and fight for a balanced budget.

Victoria Spartz IN – 5TH DISTRICT

This District covers the north side of Indianapolis along with its eastern and northern suburbs, and is currently represented by retiring GOP Representative Susan Brooks. In 2016, President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in this district 53% to 41%. A conservative state senator who grew up in socialist-controlled Ukraine, is a passionate opponent of socialism with critical legislative experience on health reforms. She entered the general election campaign with a sharp cash-on-hand disadvantage compared to the Democrat nominee, a liberal state representative.

Matt Rosendale MT – AT-LARGE DISTRICT

Montana’s At-Large congressional seat is currently occupied by Republican Congressman , who is running for Governor of Montana, creating an open seat. Rosendale is a rancher and businessman who has served as a conservative state legislator and as state auditor. A fiscal conservative who fights, Rosendale led the effort against expansion, earmarks, eminent domain abuse, and even turned down a pay raise to deal with a budget crunch. His opponent is a well-funded liberal state representative. ENDORSED U.S. HOUSE CANDIDATES REPUBLICAN PICKUP OPPORTUNITY

Madison Cawthorn NC – 11TH DISTRICT

25-year-old has emerged as a rising star in the Republican Party. Cawthorn defeated Lynda Bennett in the Republican Primary Runoff, 65.8% to 34.2%, despite Bennett receiving endorsements from and President Trump. Cawthorn was paralyzed from the waist down following a horrific car accident. Cawthorn is a small businessman who strongly believes in free markets and was a featured speaker at this year’s RNC. This congressional district has recently undergone redistricting making the general election a close race.

Steve Chabot OH – 1ST DISTRICT

Congressman (CFGF Lifetime Rating: 91%) is one of the few longtime stalwart economic conservatives in the U.S. House. While this Cincinnati-based District has a slight Republican lean, Chabot has had many competitive elections in the past, with his latest challenge coming in 2018 when he defeated liberal Aftab Pureval by a little more than four points. The Democrats have targeted Chabot again in 2020, making it necessary for conservatives to continue to support him.

Scott Perry PA – 10TH DISTRICT

Due to a late redistricting ordered by a Democrat-controlled state Supreme Court, Congressman Perry’s conservative south-central Congressional District became very competitive in 2018, resulting in his toughest ever Congressional re-election fight, which he won by barely two points. The Democrats’ House campaign arm, the DCCC, has targeted Perry again for defeat in 2020, making it necessary for conservatives to defend this seat from an attempted takeover. He is a member of the House and is rated more conservative than any other U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania.

Nancy Mace SC – 1ST DISTRICT

This seat is currently occupied by Democratic Representative Joe Cunningham, who won a razor-thin victory in 2018 and has spent the past two years voting with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over 85% of the time. This is a highly competitive race. In 2016, President Trump won this coastal South Carolina Congressional District by 13.1% so this is an opportunity to flip it back to the side of economic freedom and liberty. is the Republican nominee, and she’s stood out in the state legislature for her willingness to fight against new taxes, corporate welfare, overspending, and excess regulations.

Chip Roy TX – 21ST DISTRICT

Congressman was first elected in 2018, defeating his Democrat opponent by a close margin of 50.2%-47.6% even though his district had voted for Trump in 2016 by more than 10 points. A former Senate Chief of Staff to pro-growth hero, , Roy has been an ardent opponent of socialism and a reliable fighter for low taxes, , and fiscal restraint. His opponent is Wendy Davis, a one-time Democrat nominee for governor who is something of a celebrity in liberal circles, which has enabled her to raise an astounding $4.4 million. VA – 7TH DISTRICT

Virginia’s 7th Congressional District is one of the most competitive House races in the country. In July, Freitas clinched the Virginia GOP Convention and will now face Democrat freshman . As a member of the Army’s elite Special Forces, Freitas served two tours in Iraq and went on to win two races for the Virginia General Assembly, where he earned a 100% rating from the Club for Growth Foundation. Spanberger has raked in more than $3 million, so Freitas will need immediate financial help to prepare for a competitive fall campaign.
