Gould, who comes to us from California State University, Long Beach, where she had been and senior vice-president for academic affairs since March 2007. Prior to that appointment, President Gould served as dean at the McMicken College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Cincinnati from 2001 to 2007, and as dean at the College of Arts and Letters at from 1996 to 2001. In addition, she has held tenured faculty positions and administrative appointments at Bowling Green State University, Virginia Polytechnic University, and Bucknell University. President Gould, who received a B.A. from Occidental College in 1970, a degree from the Sorbonne, and a Ph.D. in Romance languages from the University of Oregon in 1975, is an internationally known scholar in the field of French-Canadian .
