Make Your Own Salad Dressings
Balsamic Vinagrette - Emily Poole 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar 1/4 cup maple Syrup (the real thing) 1/4 cup olive oil
Additional options: 1/2 tsp sea salt scant 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 Tbs chopped fresh rosemary 1 clove garlic, minced
Mix together, whisk and serve.
French Dressing - Sheri Barnette 1 can condensed tomato soup 1 cup oil 1 Tbs black pepper 1 Tbs worchestershire sauce 1 Tbs mustard 1 Tbs garlic salt 1 tsp salt 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup vinegar
Pour soup into mixing bowl. Stir while adding other ingredients in the order given. Store in refrigerator. Shake well each time before using. Makes 3 cups.
Italian Dressing - Melissa Wray 2/3 cup oil 1/4 cup red wine vinegar 1 tsp dired Italian seasonings salt and pepper
Whisk together. Shake before each use.
Maple Dressing - Melissa Wray 1/4 cup light olive oil 3 Tbs maple syrup 1/2 cup salad oil 2 1/2 Tbs dijon style mustard 2 Tbs balsamic vinegar 1/4 cup half and half dash salt 1 clove garlic, peeled and scored (not crushed) Whisk together all ingredients except garlic. Add the garlic and let the dressing sit for at least an hour. Dressing gets better overnight and keeps 4-5 days in refrigerator.
Creamy Italian Dressing - Melissa Wray 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/3 cup white wine vinegar 1 tsp vegetable oil 2 Tbs corn syrup 2 Tbs grated parmesan cheese 2 Tbs romano cheese 1/4 tsp garlic salt 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning 1/2 tsp parsley flakes 1 Tbs lemon juice 2 Tbs sugar - mor to taste
Mix all ingredinets in blender
Italian Dressing - Darlene Beasley 3 Tbs olive oil 1 Tbs white wine vinegar 2 Tbs chopped fresh basil 1 glove garlic, crushed salt and pepper to taste
Whisk and serve
Asian Dalad Dressing - “Sensational Summer Salads” by Marilyn Moll 4 Tbs rice vinegar 2 Tbs soy sauce 2 tsp grated fresh ginger 2 tsp toasted sesame oil 2 tsp chopped green onions or chives 1 clove garlic, mashed 1 tsp honey 2/3 cup good quality salad oil
Blend together and shake before using. Store in refrigerator
Ranch Dressing - “Sensational Summer Salads” by Marilyn Moll 3/4 cup mayonnaise 3/4 cup sour cream or buttermilk 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp dill weed 1 tsp onion granules or 1 Tbs chopped onion 1 Tbs parsley 1 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper
Mix in blender until smooth. Thin with buttermilk or milk to desired consistency. Authentic ranch dressing has buttermilk in it, but if you use 1-2 Tbs buttermilk powder you can get the same effect. Use sour cream instead of buttermilk to make this into a dip.
Thousand Island Dressing - “Sensational Summer Salads” by Marilyn Moll 3/4 cup mayonnaise 2 Tbs ketchup 1 Tbs sweet pickle relish 1 Tbs fresh parsley, chopped or 1 tsp dried 1 tsp onion granules or 1 Tbs onion, minced 1/2 tsp sugar 1/4 worchestershire sauce 1 Tbs lemon juice salt and pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Refirgerate
Greek Salad Dressing - “Sensational Summer Salads” by Marilyn Moll 2 Tbs Greek seasoning (1 Tbs oregano, 1 1/2 tsp cumin, 3/4 tsp paprika, 3/4 tsp pepper, 2 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp salt) 1/2 cup olive oil (or 1/4 cup olive oil and 1/4 cup canola oil) 1/3 cup red wine vinegar 2 tsp sugar 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled (ooptional)
Combine 2 Tbs Greek seasoning and 2 Tbs water. Allow to stand for about 5 minutes. Then add the oil, vinegar, and sugar and whisk well. Add crumbled feta if desired, Serve over traditional Greek Salad.
