EVERY MOMENT TELLS A STORY

Photography supplied by Iconic Images © Iconic Images / Terry O’Neill 2018 FOREWORD

Following the success of the Savoy Theatre’s Gilbert and Sullivan operas, theatre impresario Richard D’Oyly Carte “Magic pictures happen when the decided to open the Savoy Hotel in 1889. Born from this combination of an idea, patience and luck artistic foundation, The Savoy remains intertwined with art in all its various forms. During the 1980s a decision occur at once.” was made by the then General Manager, Willy Bauer, and legendary American Bar Head Bartender Peter Dorelli, to Terry O’Neill purchase and decorate the walls of the American Bar with black and white photography.

The focus of this menu is on our bar’s photographs taken by the great Terry O’Neill who manages to bring a keen eye and his own unique vision to bear on some of the greatest personalities who have ever lived. These photographs each form the inspiration for a bespoke cocktail as the walls of the American Bar are brought to life to tell their stories. CONTENTS
