PPAATTRRIICCKK SSWWAANN PRESENTER•HAIR & MAKEUP EXPERT•ARBITER OF STYLE Patrick Swan originally trained as a hairdresser in 1975 under Robert Pearson of Vidal Sassoon. He obtained his teaching diploma in 1981. Whilst in Florida Patrick worked as a hairdresser in salons as well as presenting a series of programmes on Public Television. In 1982 Patrick moved to New York City to pursue a career as a hair and makeup artist in the fashion industry. During his fourteen years in New York he worked for an extensive list of editorial, advertising and celebrity clients. His many credits include the cover of Madonna’s Madonna the First Album. While Patrick was based in New York he travelled on location throughout the world. In 1996 Patrick moved to London in order to work with the European market and explore a television career. Since arriving he became a regular guest makeup artist on BBC’s ‘Style Challenge’ programme and has also appeared on ‘The Clothes Show’, ‘Daily Live’ and ‘She’s Gotta Have It’, Granada’s ‘Wellbeing’ as a hair and skin expert, UK Style’s “Stylefile”, Living’s “Body Beautiful” as a Style Guru and GMTV “ LKToday” as a style expert. Patrick has also appeared as a celebrity hairdresser in a Head & Shoulder’s television commercial which lead to a contract with American haircare company Alterna, for whom he was the international artistic and brand consultant responsible for their international launch. He has written a hair Q&A series for Elle.com and has presented an eight-part Spa Tour series for BBC Choice’s ‘Looking Extra Good’, and co-presented for Granada Breeze with ‘Fashion Livetime’. Patrick presented a makeover strand on ITV1’s “Love2Shop”series, contributes regularly on BBC Radio Scotland’s Fred MacAulay, BBC Asian Radio, Talksport, Ideal Shopping Direct TV, has a Personal Shopping Experience business conducts a monthly workshop for Breast Cancer Haven, appears in numerous shopping centres throughout the UK comparing fashion events. Most recently was commissioned by NBC Universal for Hair, Makeup and Grooming for presenter and medallist with the 2012 London Olympic Games.
