The Estate
Owned and operated by Paul and Philippe Zinck and just a few kilometers southwest of Colmar, the Zinck winery is located in Eguisheim, one of the loveliest villages in Alsace. Sheltered by the Vosges mountains, the climate is semi-continental, quite sunny, temperate and dry. The vineyards cover over 20 hectares and produce wines with labels guaranteeing the origin of the wine, AOC. These include AOC Alsace, AOC Grand Cru, AOC Crémant of Alsace, and special mentions for the vendanges tardives and grains nobles. The rich earth -- silt, chalky with clay-silt and volcanic ash – allows cultivation of all the Alsatian varietals, including Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gewurztraminer.
Wine Making
For his white Crémant, Philippe Zinck has chosen three grape varieties, all particularly suited to sparkling wine: Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, which provide a certain strength and richness to the Crémant, and Chardonnay, which lends its fresh fruitiness. Three vintages of reserve wine is used in the assemblage to ensure consistent flavor from year to year.
Tasting Notes
Both light and full-bodied, with a biscuity bouquet of exotic fruit and apricots, this Crémant can be served with aperitifs as desserts. It surprises and pleases the palate thanks to the fine bubbles that rise gracefully to dance on the tongue
