Meditation: A Christian View of Death

We picture Death as coming to destroy .....let us rather see it as Christ coming to save. We think of Death as an ending .....rather think of it as new life beginning. We think of death as parting .....rather think of it as a meeting of loved ones. We think of it as going away .....rather think of it as arriving...Home at last! Death is not extinguishing the Light, it is putting out the lamp, because the Day, the Eternal Day has dawned!

ALL: So, help us to see death for what it really is The end of frustration...... and the beginning of fulfillment The end of fears...... and the beginning of Peace The end of pains and hurts.....the beginning of Joy and of .

LEADER: Dearest ______, may the Angels lead you into Paradise. May the and await your coming and escort you to the Holy City. May the choirs of Angels welcome you. And all you, dear Ones, may you enjoy everlasting Rest and .

LEADER: O God our Father, from Whom we came, and to Whom we return, let us be convinced by the sign of death...that it is only the body which dies and corrupts. But the more important half of a person, his spirit and soul, by which he thinks and , is not touched by Death, but transfers to a new and endless life beyond the grave.....So, now O Lord, make us believe that our beloved ______, is indeed just “departed” to a better world...where at this moment he/she is alive, is conscious, and full of love for each of us, and awaits our coming one by one.
