Solicitor Instructions & Rules
1. Each vendor must complete an application.
2. You must show proof of identification using a government issued ID.
3. You must prominently display your permit ID at all times while engaged in soliciting, canvassing, or handbill and or leaflet distribution activities.
4. You must wear a high visibility reflective traffic vest made of fluorescent orange or yellow material that may be clearly seen at any time of the day, and it shall be worn on the outside of all clothing or jacket all times when engaged in, traveling to and from soliciting, canvassing, or handbill and or leaflet distribution activities.
5. There is a $35.00 annual fee for the first permit and $10.00 for each additional permit. There is a $50.00 fee per person, corporation, or organization that sponsors or employs more than one or more minors as solicitors.
7. A Surety Bond is required: 1. 1 to 3 persons $500.00 2. 4 to 6 persons $750.00 3. 7 or more persons $1000.00
8. Each application requires two photos of the applicant measuring 1 ½ X 1 ½ inches showing the head and shoulders of the applicant in a clear and distinguishing manner. The photos shall have been taken within the preceding 60 days before filing the application. You may go to various local pharmacies and ask for a passport picture (2 x 2 ) which we can cut down and use.
9. You must leave immediately upon a request from the tenant or property owner.
10. Hours of solicitation are from 8:30am until dark or 9:00pm, whichever is earlier on a given day.
