Our Story Archie Hume, known as Arch, founded A·Hume, Gentlemen’s Outfitters in 1929. He ran an entirely made-to-measure tailoring business, a service still offered to this day. In 1948, Jock Hume his son joined the business, eventually taking over from his father, he added a ready-to-wear collection to the traditional tailoring business. In 1982, Archie Hume, the third generation joined his father in the business, introducing new brands and bringing a contemporary twist to the traditional offering. In 2007 www.ahume.co.uk went live, selling to customers all over the globe. Today, A·Hume Country Clothing remains a family owned and run business, with two shops in the heart of Kelso in the Scottish Borders. We love being part of The Square in Kelso, seeing familiar faces daily and welcoming new visitors to our home.
