National Junior Honor Society Medal of Distinction Achievement Program
Rules for Members :
1. Activities will be recorded on the NJHS Activity Resume by the adviser (click here ).
2. You must reach the minimum to remain in NJHS.
3. Points may not be claimed for activities prior to your NJHS membership.
4. Don’t repeat an activity, with the exception of service hours, without consulting the adviser.
5. If you would like to earn points for something not listed, consult the adviser.
6. Your points accumulate over both years you are in NJHS. The level you have reached by the end of eighth grade will be the level you are rewarded for at the induction ceremony.
7. Documentation must be turned into the adviser to receive credit for any project.
8. At least 24 of your points need to be earned by doing service hours.
Minimum amount of points: For one year 40 points
Medal of Distinction: 110 points
Activity Points Attend and participate in a meeting (each meeting is one point) 1 Attend and participate in the 5 th Grade Transition Event 1 Attend an approved cultural event (Seattle museum exhibit or theater event) 1 Participate in an NJHS sponsored event, such as Tolt Parent/Teacher Conferences, 2 Cookies & Cards to Vets, Warm & Fuzzy Clothing Drive, or Day of Silence College campus tour (may not include an NJHS sponsored event) 1 Go to a student workshop at a college 2 Lead a leadership activity at an NJHS meeting 2 1 service hour that is important and represents a lower growth opportunity 2 Make a bulletin board to display in the school 2 Qualify for Nationals in TSA 2 1 service hour that is important and represents a higher growth opportunity 3 Serve as an NJHS officer 5 Attend all meetings +5 Bonus
