The Archdiocesan Summa Scholar . The Archdiocese of Hartford recognizes the top seniors who have excelled academically over their high school career. This award is given to the following seniors: Jacob Fleischer, Liam Millott, Matthew Murdock, Alexander Ozonoff, Justin Pollio, Evan Quesada

The Brother Gonzaga Service Award is given to students who render significant service to those in need, reflecting Christ’s compassion. Brother Gonzaga was one of the first moderators of the Christian Student Mission Club at Notre . These students have given of themselves in quiet, long-standing service to people in need, responding to the call of our founder, Blessed Basil Moreau that we “make God known, loved, and served.” Please hold your applause until all the names have been read: Ohm Patel, Bryce Vitale, Marcus Yancoskie

The Notre Dame High School St. Brother Andre Bessette is awarded to Antonio Mantero

The mission of the Notre Dame English Department is to prepare our students for the demands of reading and writing, nurturing ease of expression, and a love for the written word. Through literary selections, students learn empathy and reach a deeper understanding of the universal human experience through diverse voices, time periods, and cultures.

The English Composition Medal is given to a senior in honor of Brother Joseph Zutelis, CSC, a former faculty member from 1965-69. The Medal is awarded to Elijah Blocker

The Notre Dame High School English Medal is awarded to Alexander Ozonoff

The Notre Dame Fine Department provides students with opportunities to develop their individual artistic talents and skills within a collaborative working environment that fosters respect and encourages students to work to their highest potential. We strive to instill a lifelong appreciation for the Arts.

The Medal for Chorus, sponsored in memory of Mr. Donald Scharf, Class of 1951 is given to Antonio Mantero

The Music Medal for Band is awarded to Bryce Vitale

The John Philip Sousa Award is the pinnacle of achievement in high school bands. It is presented in recognition of singular merit in the area of instrumental music, to students who demonstrate outstanding musicianship, loyalty, and cooperation and all those qualities high school music requires. This year’s John Philip Sousa Award is presented to Jenaz Ninonuevo

The second award presented by the Instrumentalist Magazine is the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award. It recognizes outstanding achievement in the field of jazz as demonstrated through superior musicianship, character and individual creativity. This year’s award is presented to Marcus Yancoskie

The World Language Department educates Notre Dame’s students to become communicatively competent and informed global citizens with proficiency in languages and critical insights into the cultures of our target languages. Cultural diversity and language proficiency are essential parts of educating the minds and hearts of our students to become true global citizens.

The Notre Dame High School Italian Medal is given to a senior in memory of Nicholas Palmieri. The Medal is awarded this year to Liam Millott

The Notre Dame High School Latin Medal is given to a senior in memory of Br. Eldred Reisenweber, CSC, Principal of Notre Dame from 1961 – 67. This year the award is given to Jacob Fleischer

The Language Dept Award for Excellence in Spanish IV goes to Justin Pollio

The Notre Dame High School Spanish Medal is given to a senior in memory of the Most Rev. Alfred Mendez, CSC, former Bishop of Arecibo, Puerto Rico The Medal is given to Antonio Mantero

The mission of the Department is to reveal to our students the simplicity, beauty, and the power of mathematics. We assist students in cultivating critical thinking skills and problem-solving strategies. Students develop oral, written, and technological skills through collaborative initiatives.

The Holy Cross College of Indiana Book Award in honor of Brother John Paige, CSC, former Principal of Notre Dame High School is presented to a senior who excels in math and has been of service to other students in our school community. This year the award is given to Genaro Labanca

The Notre Dame Mathematics Medal is awarded to a senior who has demonstrated a mastery of mathematics throughout his high school career. This year the medal is given to Evan Quesada

The mission of the Department is to provide each student with the 21st-century skills necessary to understand and explain concepts and practices in physical and life by engaging them in the use of cross-cutting concepts and science and practices in line with the Next Generation Science Standards. Upon graduation, students will have developed critical thinking and problem- solving skills to be able to apply their understanding to current events, scientific phenomena, and scientific and technological advances and to be an informed global citizen.

The mission of the Social Studies department is to foster the growth and adaptability of globally aware students and to cultivate an appreciation of the responsibilities of American citizenship within our students. Emphasis is placed on developing analytical and research skills along with other 21st Century skills.

The Notre Dame High School Social Studies Medal is given this year to Antonio Mantero

Each year we are given several certificates and scholarships to present to deserving students at Notre Dame High School. These awards are presented to students who, in the opinion of the Administration and Faculty, have achieved academic excellence and have demonstrated a seriousness of purpose in study and school citizenship.

President’s Award for Educational Achievement Award is given to a student who has shown outstanding educational growth, improvement, and dedication to academic progress and achievement. This year the award is given to John Paulishen West Haven Rotary Club Service Above Self Award is given to a graduating senior that embodies the world-wide Rotary motto of “Service Above Self”. It is given in memory of Gene Dorsi, a West Haven resident and father of Paul Dorsi (ND’84), who served this community selflessly throughout his life. The recipient is a West Haven resident that gives back to his community above and beyond the required hours of community service. This year the award goes to Donald Coletta

The Robert T. Scheithe Award is given in memory of Robert who was a member of the Class of 1995 and President of the National Honor Society. The award recognizes a senior who has been of service to the school and is a member of the National Honor Society. This year the award is given to Owen Clark

The Bishop Peter A. Rosazza Community Service Award is given to a graduating senior who, in the opinion of the faculty, has dedicated himself at Notre Dame to humble and compassionate service to others both at the school and within the wider community. The recipient of the award is Jacob Doyle

The Connecticut Association of Schools recently honored two of our students and recognized them for their outstanding achievements in the arts of either music or art. They are Owen Clark and Alexander Ozonoff

The Southern Connecticut Conference Scholar-Leaders. The Southern Connecticut Conference recently honored two students from Notre Dame as scholar-leaders. The two seniors are Donald Coletta and Jamar Dejesus

National Merit Scholarship Program. This year we have one senior who was recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program with a Letter of Commendation for their outstanding performance on the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in 2019. The student is Alexander Ozonoff

The Notre Dame Scholar-Athlete Award. This year the scholar-athlete award is presented to Justin Pollio

The Connecticut Association of Schools Scholar-Athlete Award is presented to: Alexander Ozonoff & Jacob Fleischer

Notre Dame Salutatorian Award is presented to the senior with the second-highest overall weighted average during their four years of high school. The Salutatorian for the Class of 2021 is Evan Quesada

Notre Dame High School Scholar of the Class of 2021. This is presented to the senior with the highest overall weighted average during their four years of high school. The Valedictorian for the class of 2021 is Alexander Ozonoff
