THE XXIV WORLD CONGRESS OF PHILOSOPHY

LOGISTIC INFORMATION

The XXIV World Congress of Philosophy will be held in Beijing, China, August 13 -20, 2018. We warmly welcome your presence. Here is some practical information.

I. Registration Check-in Time: August 12 9:00-22:00 Venue: Lobby of the first floor (enter from Gate C4), China National Convention Center Registration Fee: Regular: 1750 CNY; Students: 350 CNY; Accompanying Person: 700 CNY

Note: 1. Please provide the last four numbers of your Attendee ID, or registered email account and/or passport at the registration desk; 2. The on-site payment can only be made in Chinese Currency (CNY). You can pay by CNY cash, Alipay, WeChat, Unionpay, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Diners, etc.; 3. If your payment of the registration fee has not yet been acknowledged, please confirm your payment in the desk of the WCP Secretariat with a copy of your remittance invoice or receipt. Please also complete your registration check-in at the registration desk after the confirmation; 4. Unfortunately new registration cannot be added since additional congress space is not available.

II. Conference Venue Opening Ceremony The Great Hall of the People Main Congress Venue China National Convention Center (CNCC) General Assembly of FISP Yingjie Exchange Center, Peking University

Note: Participation in the Opening Ceremony is based on invitation only. Invited participants will receive an invitation card upon registration check-in.

III. Accommodation The XXIV World Congress of Philosophy has established an online hotel booking system for Congress participants: http://mice.ctrip.com/hotel/events/67?lan=en. All of the hotels released on this platform, except China National Convention Center Grand Hotel that is within 5-minute walking distance from CNCC, will have a system of shuttle buses to transport participants to and from the congress venue (CNCC) throughout the congress from August 12 to August 20.

IV. Social and Cultural Program 1. Campus Tour, Acrobatics Show & Movie Screening 1

From August 14 to 17, and again on August 19, there will be a campus tour of Peking University once a day. An acrobatics show and a movie screening have also been scheduled during the WCP period. Tickets for these cultural events will be provided on a first come, first served basis at the corresponding information desk (on the first floor of CNCC) beginning on August 12. Buses for campus tour and the acrobatics show will be available to ticket holders.

Note: Those participating in the campus tour or the acrobatics show will need to arrange transportation to CNCC/hotel individually.

2. Tour There will be a series of city excursions and theme tours outside Beijing specially prepared for congress participants. For more details, please visit the following website http://wcp2018.pku.edu.cn/yw/Local_information/SocialandCulturalProgramme/index.htm. Participants having registered for a tour can collect your tour tickets before the date of travel at the Tour information desk (on the first floor of CNCC).

V. Internet WiFi connection is available in CNCC and a password will be announced during the congress. Please be aware that Google, Gmail, Facebook and Twitter are NOT normally accessible in China. In order to use Google, Gmail, Facebook or Twitter, please log in via your own VPN.

VI. Transportation 1. To Hotel  By Taxi: Taxis can be easily hailed from the taxi station outside the Beijing Capital International Airport (Website: http://www.bcia.com.cn) waiting hall. If you go by taxi and do not speak Chinese, please show the attached note (Attachment 1) to the taxi driver. Don’t forget to MAKE SURE the driver turns on the meter as you leave the airport.  By Subway: You can take Airport Express, and then transfer to Subway Line 10 at Sanyuanqiao Station(三元桥站) or Subway Line 2 and Subway Line 13 at Dongzhimen Station （东直门站） to your destination. The attached Subway Map (Attachment 2) is for your reference.

2. To Opening Ceremony Invited participants of the Opening Ceremony must go to the Great Hall of the People by congress shuttle buses at indicated pick-up points. You are not allowed to go there by yourself. Your invitation and passport are required for admittance. Baggage of any kind is strictly forbidden in the Great Hall of the People.

3. To Congress Venue(CNCC) Participants living in the Lakeview Hotel, Zhongguanyuan Global Village, Crowne Plaza Beijing Zhongguancun, Beijing Xihua Business Hotel, Friendship Hotel, Jia Yuan Hotel, Xiyuan Hotel, Yulong Hotel and Yulong International Hotel can take congress shuttles from hotels to CNCC. The following shuttle bus schedule for Aug.12 is for your reference:

The bus schedule during the Congress (Aug.13-20) will be available at the registration desk of CNCC and in the lobby of the hotels.

Take Subway Line 8, get off at Olympic Green Station(奥林匹克公园站) and leave from Exit I; OR get to Olympic Green Station(奥林匹克公园站) by Line 15 and come out from Exit E.  By Taxi: If you intend to take a taxi to CNCC, you may show the driver the following map with the address of the CNCC marked in both English and Chinese.
