Ashtead All Stars : Weekly Update

Results from Last Week:

Nonsuch League: U14 v Dorking WON 14 - 13 U14 v Wandsworth Sapphire LOST 9 - 25 A fabulous, well deserved, win against Dorking. Dorking beat us significantly in the Dorking League last week, but I felt sure we could do much better against them. The girls were 3 down in the last quarter, and yet dug their heels in and secured a 14 – 13 victory. We then played Wandsworth, who were given silver medals at the end of the day for their position in the League. We gave them a good run for their money, but they were definitely the better team on the day and they deserved their victory. Unfortunately we lost B in the second quarter, and after 4 hours at A&E last night, we have discovered that she has broken her elbow !! Star Players today were Rebecca Fanthorpe and Sophie Tarling.

Mon 17th March 4pm – 8pm: Training at the Rec. All Years Wed 19th March, 6-7pm: U11 indoor training at Downsend Sun 23rd March: U12 and U13 Dorking League, End of Season Tournament

Any Other News/Business:  Please look out for the Surrey Youth Games netball. I would encourage all girls in years 5 to 8 to apply. Free training sessions plus the chance to play in the Surrey Youth Games for Mole Valley (or Epsom and Ewell if you live in Epsom or go to school in Epsom)  I am running Summer Netball sessions at Leatherhead Leisure Centre, 10 sessions throughout the Summer Term, £40, please let me know if you are interested. Year 5 and Year 6 Wednesdays 6pm and year 7, 8 and 9 Wednesdays 7pm.  I am also running Summer Netball sessions for years 3 and 4, Leatherhead Leisure Centre, Wednesdays 6 – 7pm. Please spread the word.
