The map below shows the , , and townships in northern . Since 25 August 2017, over 150 hotspots were detected with remote environmental sensors. Five of those hotspots were detected after 30 September. UNITAR/UNOSAT found over 22.48 square kilometres of destroyed NORTHERN RAKHINE STATE or damaged structures were present across the area analysed. Over 60% of the three townships has yet to be analysed.

A small section of more organized thatch and metal roof structures remain unburned neighbouring many of the burned structures. It MYANMAR is probable the organized area is occupied by and the razed areas were occupied by Rohingya MIN GYI people. Burned area is not evident between the clusters of burned structures, suggesting each cluster was set fire independently rather than the fire naturally spreading.

A small section of thatch and metal roof structures, along with vegetation, remains unburned. Based on the MYANMAR layout and quality of the structures in the unburned area, it is probable this section of Inn Din is inhabited by INN DIN Rakhine people versus . Fires were remotely detected in the Inn Din area by an environmental monitoring sensor on 28 August 2017.

A Buddhist temple is visible in Inn Din and many of the structures appear to have metal roofs. The layout of MYANMAR the structures also appears to be more organized when compared to the thatch roof structures in Inn Din (East) INN DIN on 27 December 2016. On 24 September 2017, none of the thatch roof structures in Inn Din appear burned. All of the structures in Inn Din (East) appear razed on the same day.

According to data acquired from a environmental monitoring sensor, fries were detected in the area on 28 August 2017.

A Buddhist temple is visible in and two helicopters are located nearby, suggesting the village could be affiliated with the military. On 16 Sep- MYANMAR tember 2017, cloudy imagery shows Nyaung Chaung has been razed. Presence of white ash indicates the fires NYAUNG CHAUNG likely happened recently. On 22 September 2017, parts of the organized village are visible and appears intact. Environmental sensors detected fires immediately south of Nyaung Chaung on 14 and 15 September 2017.

On 16 MYANMAR September 2017, imagery shows most structures have been razed in the area. Areas were not burned between WET KYEIN clusters of structures suggesting the fire did not spread naturally and each cluster was lit on fire independent- ly. Images below show the areas burned and a closer look at the burned structures.

A small area of unburned struc- MYANMAR tures are visible in the centre of the village. Between 16 September 2017 and 22 September 2017, much of the KYEIN CHAUNG previously unburned area was razed. Environmental sensors detected fires in the area on 15 September 2017. More recent fires were also detected on 25 September 2017.
