As a motoring enthusiast, MD Peter Swain has an affection for British sports cars having owned many MGs, Triumphs and Jaguars himself over the years. As the MD of restoration company RBW Classic & Sports Cars, Peter could see that these vehicles faced an uncertain future in the modern world.
He saw the potential for an electric car that had all the benefits of a modern vehicle but with the aesthetic appeal of a beautiful classic car. And so RBW Electric Classic Cars evolved. From the outset, he wanted to create an electric system that could be sympathetically applied to different classic cars without degradation to the car and with a clear focus on safety first.

12 RBW ROADSTER THE RBW CLASSIC ELECTRIC ROADSTER & GT RBW THE ART OF INNOVATION Inspired by the MGB Roadster of the 1960s, the RBW EV Roadster takes the classic sports car design and enhances it for the modern world, whilst retaining a stylish elegance. Under the brand-new heritage body shell from British Motor Heritage, sits the patented power ROADSTER GT drivetrain system, which places the electric motor at the rear of the car.
Hyperdrive Innovation’s lithium-ion battery technology sits under the bonnet, providing perfectly balanced weight distribution. This gives the driver much better handling of the car, retaining that sports car feel, and allows the maximum battery volume to be housed.
Bespoke-built front and rear suspension, all independent utilising coil-over damper technology around the vehicle, and OEM developed brakes discs and callipers, with Regen braking is also included.
