Arrive before 10p on Wednesday to avoid the exhausting lines, and enjoy half-priced drinks (and ladies get in free) at this spectacular, multi-level club designed by Gustave Eiffel, where the music ranges from popular 90s classics to Argentine national rock. Like at many clubs in Buenos Aires, dinner is served early in the night, and you can choose from a menu of several options, such as a tasty picada of meats and cheeses, sushi, pasta and pizza. Once the dining tables clear and the music turns up, try to remember that Argentine packing in on a dance floor tend to require significantly less personal space than you may be used to (especially at the overexcited Wednesday "After Office" party). Pobre Luis, El "Elegant & Sporty Uruguayan Barbeque"
Created by a Uruguayan chef who is also a soccer fanatic, the restaurant is decorated with over 390 team shirts signed by famous players. Set in a converted factory, two levels of windows overlook a quiet street and red paint accentuates the industrial metal bracings of the building interior. Waiters are dressed informally in jeans, while the tables are covered with by Miriam Cutler large white tablecloths and elegant cloth napkins. The modern barbeque section of the kitchen is completely open for viewing. A must is the house specialty "pamplonas".
