Gifted with an outstanding musicality, Anna Lauvergnac began performing just one month after she started singing, and soon she was sharing the stage with some of the finest musicians of the Italian jazz scene (Franco Vallisneri, Francesco Bearzatti, Glauco Venier, Emanuele Cisi, Andrea Allione, Renato Chicco etc); she had not only a natural feeling for jazz, but also a beautiful stage presence : she started appearing in some of the major Jazz Clubs in Italy, performing in Trieste, Venezia, Bologna, Torino, Milano, Roma, Cremona, Matera, Taranto. In 1989 she moved to Graz, Austria, where she received a scolarship to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts with Jazz Giants Jay Clayton, Mark Murphy, Andy Bey and Sheila Jordan. She traveled often to New York, got deeper and deeper in the Music, and started performing in Austria, France, Germany, Slovakia with renown international jazz artists
In 1994 she moved to Vienna, where she had an engagement from Porgy and Bess, one of Europe’s finest Jazz club, and she started to perform on different special Events with Europe leading Big Band : the Vienna Art Orchestra.
She started as well a serial of recordings for ORF, the Austrian Radio, presenting each year a different project, and she wrote songs and music for six movies of Austrian director Xaver Schwarzenberger.
In 1999 she was again in New York recording her first solo album « Anna Lauvergnac » (wich features some of America and Europe top jazz musicians, such as Andy Bey,John Di Martino, Boris Kozlov,Pete Bernstein Wolfgang Puschnig, Claus Raible, Alegre Corea etc) for the Swiss label TCB, and back to Europe she was offered to be the new singer of the Vienna Art Orchestra : in the following decade she appeared on hundreds of concerts with the band, performing in all the major Jazz Festival and theaters in Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Russia, Holland, Bulgaria, Lituania, Norway, Ukrain, Portugal, Cech Republic, Hungary, Spain, England, Poland, Luxenburg, Belgium, Germany, Croatia, China, Cuba, Canada. (Umbria Jazz, Paris Jazz Festival, Berlin Jazz Festival, Time in Jazz, Natt Jazz, Beijing Jazz Festival, Nord Sea Jazz Festival, Wiener Festwochen, Festival Jazz de l’Havana, Toronto Festival, Vancouver Jazz days…) and recorded 12 CDs, mostly for Universal Music.
On the side she kept touring with different bands in Italy, France, Austria and Germany, collaborating with great artists such as Bojan Z, Alegre Corea, Paolo Fresu, Fritz Pauer, Till Martin, Bumi Fian etc and released the cds « You must believe in Spring » for Petit Paquet Records and « Come Closer » for ACT, and partecipated as a guest artist in different recordings.
She’s been featured on top cultural-events such as the Ruhe Triennale and the Opening of the Wiener Festwochen (which is broadcasted live on TV in most European countries), the Expo 2000, the Midem Cannes, the Cezanne exibition in Vienna, and on several live and radio shows of Austrian Rock Star Willi Resetarits
