What ?

Natura 2000 is a deciduous forest containing 3 entities and several natural environments (forest, land, wetland area) with great diversity of flora and fauna. West, there is the “Bois de Vaires” , including Arboretum, at the East you have the “Bois du Marais” , including a wetland area and a network of ponds. This protected site is located along a high-speed train line.. This Natura 2000 site is of great ecological interest given its aging oaks, its alluvial afforestation and marshes. The afforestation plays an important role as an ecological corridor between other peripheral woods. It maintains an essential mesh in the maintenance of a green framework within a network of cities and urban areas.

Species Flora (bryophytes, mosses, ferns, angiosperma), mushrooms, birds, insects ( Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Odonata), mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fishes, aging trees (oaks, ashes....)

Natura 2000 (European Commission)

Natura 2000 is a network of core breeding and resting sites for rare and threatened species, and some rare natural habitat types which are protected in their own right. It stretches across all 28 EU countries, both on land and at sea. The aim of the network is to ensure the long-term survival of Europe's most valuable and threatened species and habitats, listed under both the Birds Directive and the Habitats Directive.

Stretching over 18 % of the EU’s land area and almost 6 % of its marine territory, it is the largest coordinated network of protected areas in the world. It offers a haven to Europe's most valuable and threatened species and habitats.

2°) reserve of the Islands of Chelles

What ? http://espacesnaturels.natureparif.fr/?option=com_content&view=article&id=20&Itemid=62

Located 20 kilometers east of , the Islands of Chelles nature reserve is composed of a string of islands and wooded islets located in a non-navigable part of the Marne. In spite of an urban context, its 5 hectares retain a marked natural character playing a part refuge for the avifauna. Visitors will observe birds and the flora of the banks of the Marne, along the islands of Chelles. The visit includes the history of the mill of Chelles . There is also an olympic pool, and efforts to conciliate sport and nature. The islands all have a similar profile. In their central part, there are alluvial woodlands, and on their banks, depending on the degree of slope, a more or less important shrubland and a hygrophilous vegetation.

Species

Flora (bryophytes, mosses, ferns, angiosperma ), mushrooms, birds, insects ( Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Odonata), mammals, amphibian, reptiles, fishes

The site of Les Iles de Chelles is a refuge for an original fauna and flora in an environment that has been strongly anthropized for many years.

Out of 53 species of birds observed, 17 are breeding birds including the kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) and creek wagtail (Motacilla cinerea). 181 plant species including 8 heritage species have been identified. Of these, 2 species are protected at national level. Several uncommon species of fish are found in islands, such as Chabot, Barbeau or Lamproie fluviatile.

Of the 178 listed plant species, eight are remarkable for their rarity, two of which are protected in Île- de- : the Great Dodder (Cuscuta europaea) and Cardamine impatiens (Cardamine impatiens) The nature reserve of the islands of Chelles is by far the Ile-de-France reserve which houses the most diversified fish population. With 17 species of fish, the nature reserve shelters a diversified piscicole stand. In particular, one can note the presence of the Planer Lamprey (Lampetra fluviatilis), the Bouvière (Rhodeus amarus) and the river lote (Cobitis taenia). 3°) Parc de la Butte Verte (ANCA)

Where ? avenue Champy-Richardets 93160 NOISY-LE-GRAND

When ?

Transportation : 15 minutes walk from the Conference venue

What ? https://inpn.mnhn.fr/docs/ZNIEFF/znieffpdf/110020462.pdf Park of character and contrasts, the park of the Green Butte is a ZNIEFF (Natural Zone of Interest for Ecology, Flora and Fauna) and is the culmination of a real human prowess. Thirty years ago, the site was occupied by a public dump, today, on about fifteen hectares, with rugged relief, vast verdant slopes planted with large groves of ash, maple, black locust, cherry, pine and many others. The Green Butte Park in Noisy-le-Grand has become a real space for relaxation. The lower part of the park, little reworked, retains its old trees and ponds. The upper part of the park is the kingdom of children and sportsmen with its playgrounds, labyrinths, soccer fields and its fitness trail ... There is an open pond which allows a specific vegetation to settle (reeds, beetles, rushes ). This pool is a breeding ground for amphibians and for the Utricular citrine (abundant population). On the periphery of this pool, the afforestation is loose and the management, in a spirit of urban park, allows the herbaceous vegetation specific of the forests to flourish . South of the roadway, a gently slopy riverbed in a more forested leaves is colonized by willows. This site is also favorable for the reproduction of amphibians. On the periphery, the afforestation allows a flora characteristic of forest environments to develop.

Species (amphibians should be observable at the timing of the Conference ) http://sinp- idf.natureparif.fr/presentation/consultation/consultRDM.php?APPLI=FICHEL&FORMAT=HTML&ID=00-901 Flora (bryophytes, mosses, ferns, angiosperma) , mushrooms, birds (Dendrocops major…), insects ( Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Odonata), mammals, amphibian(Triturus cristatus, Lissotriton helveticus, Lissotriton vulgaris, Frogs…), reptiles, fish
